My God, if I only I can get this game for Christmas, that would be the ultimate Christmas present... that or a DVD copy of the Land Before Time or one of Jurassic Park.

It's still better (IMO) than any of the previous installments. Commando was cool... but it got problematic simply due to how fast one was able to move between the two locations, and WaW had a really buggy knifing system.

Black Ops is like jesus fighting a bear on six unicycles- how does a bear ride six unicycles you ask? It's just that awesome.

This one is really more about spectacle than substance. The first time I blew a guy's arm off with a shot from a 9mm pistol I was kind of like "what?"

The game really seems to be all about testosterone and machismo, really. Like how a bunch of random guards burning to death in the Baikonur level don't deserve mercy.

It's also a very linear game. You WILL go where it tells you and do EXACTLY what it tells you. Even a lot of those 'in game cutscenes' have been cut down...I remember a few where it basically gave me only ONE direction to go in and wouldn't let me move my camera at all.

You want my opinion, wait until this game goes to the bargain bin before you get it. It's a one trick pony.

I have just been on the call of duty wiki and apparently Reznov was 32 in 1945, WTF he looks like he is in his late 40s in WaW.

I'm only vaguely aware that there is a story mode in call of duty, it's the online mode people buy it for. Story and whatnot are good and all but when you think "Call Of Duty" you should be thinking "Kicking 12 year old ass"

This game is awesome, but Treyarch really needs to sort out all the issues with the PC version. :(

On a positive note, theater mode is finally working for me, so I was able to capture me getting two hip no-scopes (though I guess there's no other type of no-scope) within a few seconds of each other. :D

@OP: It was a good game, the ending was kind of strange. Kennedy, Nixon, Castro, and McNamara fighting off zombies! Wtf.

that's because you've been brainwashed

What were you expecting from an FPS? An open free-roam world?

It's the opposite for me. Since I don't usually buy FPSes, my brother does. While I don't play the campaign, instead watching him do it, I enjoy the story a lot. I'm aware that, while the multiplayer is great, it's not as interesting and profound as the campaign.
But each are great on their own merits.

I dunno, a game that doesn't give me a "MISSION FAILED" because I tried to flank an enemy or went slightly off-route.

The whole Reznov thing was pretty forced too. The guy was definitely not 32 in World at War.

This never happened to my brother and I've not heard the same complaint anywhere else.

It would be cool if they created a game mode called 'open' and it would feature a very large map with vehicles and lots of players creating a sort of open ended multiplayer.
