Deltarune Chapters 1&2

This game has a good story, fun characters, good humor, good visuals, great music, and an innovative and engaging battle system. The humor and story are definitely better and more fun in the second chapter, but the first chapter does have some good jokes and is pretty much an introduction anyway. And for the price of $0, there’s little reason not to try it. The biggest downside is that it probably won’t be finished for a very long time.

9/10

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond

A common criticism of this game is that it doesn’t add much for people who have already played Pokémon Diamond. However, I haven’t played Pokémon Diamond, so that’s not really a problem for me. My problems are that it is
A) Too repetitive
B) Too easy
Most battles go the same way. The battle starts, I use the strongest attack of my main Pokémon, the enemy Pokémon dies on the first hit (rarely the second hit), I get some money and XP, and I move on to the next trainer. Now, Gym Leader battles are a bit harder, and maybe the difficulty ramps up towards the end (I wouldn’t know, I stopped playing it partway through), but the vast majority of battles are trainer battles and wild Pokémon battles. They’re way too easy, to the point where it becomes difficult to just weaken a Pokémon so that you can catch it without accidentally knocking it out. Most of the “difficulty” in trainer battles comes from the trainers having a bunch of Pokémon. Maybe it would be harder if I had swapped Pokémon out occasionally, but if a game requires you to weaken yourself to be challenging, it’s probably not balanced. There were some interesting minigames, but I wasn’t very excited about those either.

4/10

Project Zomboid - 8/10

Project Zomboid is a zombie survival game with no real ending. The game literally starts with the words "This is how you died", and I really like that aspect. It isn't unrealistic that allows you to shoot as many zombies as you like in other games. Death is guaranteed, its only a matter of time before you manage to get yourself killed. In my opinion (and possibly fact too), PZ is one of the best zombie games out there, beating a lot of other zombie survival games. It's realistic. For example, you have actual skill levels that you need to grind for, that you can read books to upgrade and level up those skill levels, including skills such as Fitness, Strength, Carpentry (to build fortifications and walls), Mechanics (for cars), Farming, Cooking, as well as weapon skills such as Short Blunt, long blunt, short blade, long blade, spears, etc. You also actually have to grind levels for aiming and reloading so 1. You can actually hit zombies from a distance, and 2. You don't spend a few precious seconds trying to reload with a zombie a meter away from you. There are many more realistic aspects, such as bandaging wounds, having a cold from not wearing clothes, an actual seasonal map with the appropriate weather and temperature, and others.

It is set in Kentucky 1993, with an expansive map and large towns with high populations. I highly recommend it if you like sandbox-type games. Maybe watch some videos of you are interested, but be warned. It is difficult to survive for beginners, and most beginners to the game will not be able to survive for more than a week in their first few runs.

Isonzo (PC)

This is basically...the game I hoped BF1 would be. Well...it's a bit narrow, limited to the alpine fronts, but bloody hell, is it great. Dynamic gameplay that's a nice balance of speed and tactic. No "2-second-reloads" on Bolt-Action-rifles, historical accuracy galore... instead of gold-plated guns that never reached the front (or only existed in 2 photos like the Hellriegel) this one adds rifles that were actually used by reserve units like the modernized Vetterli-rifle for the Italians, or the Werndl-conversions for Austria-Hungary. Schwarzlose and Fiat-Revelli HMGs blasting away, they even included the Perrino! Historically-accurate hand-grenades? Oh yes, please! Oh, and Field-guns are actually a useful part of gameplay now, as are their many smaller cousins. A 9cm Minenwerfer dragged to the right place can decide a match. You can "build" sand-bag-emplacements in the engineer-class, and even said Minenwerfer or a light mortar. First time I ever saw such a mechanic in a game, never mind it actually being so useful! Attack, capture, hold and fortify. This game does one hell of a job. No tanks though, since the italians and Austrians didn't bloody well have any! ...and they'd be useless on the alpine front anyway.

Gun nut? Check this out: link

What really gets me is the speed, the gameplay! Reloading, aiming, firing, accuracy, movement... it's beautifully balanced. It's a lot slower than BF1 and the like, but gets the adrenaline pumping anyway. And if you "upgrade" your guns you actually get a model that's a logical improvement! From a Gasser-Revolver (incl. animated loading-gate with ram to get the empty cases out, when have you ever seen that in a game?)you go up to a clunky self-loading pistol that has hell of a time staying on target... and then to a manageable one. No Sniper-SMG for everyone, no red-dot-sights in 1915. It sounds equally beautiful. Ambience is not overblown and cartoonish like in so many shooters, firing sounds and impacts have a really realistic feel to them. It sounds dry and crisp, Hell, even the scopes have lens-discotions and reflexes! No laser-sniping here! It's a beautiful game, even if the colours look a tad too vibrant to me. That I can fix easily enough, what I cannot fix is the gameplay, and that is spot-on!

Got mine on Steam sale for 30€ including expansions, well-spent money if you ask me. It's a comfortable shooter with a beautiful gameplay and a ton of historic accuracy.

9/10 - Would Recommend!

Now I am just waiting for the Cannakale/Gallipoli Version! :D

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on those games. It's great to hear that you enjoyed Deltarune. Personally, I've recently finished Last of Us. I still need some time to think all the things over. Actually, it's the best game I've ever played. Have you guys played it? Now I play only action games like LoL and FIFA. Btw, does anybody here play FIFA? I'm sick and tired of playing alone, so I'd be really happy to help with some of you, guys. If you've not played it yet, learn this here now. The only disadvantage of this game is that it's hard to earn coins there. That's why I just buy them. So, as for rating, Last of US - 10/10, FIFA - 7/10, LoL- 6/10.

The Jelle's Marble League video game has been pretty fun, and while the graphics are not the best and greatest, it doesn't take away from the fact that it is a really fun game. I'd rate it 9/10.
