Not really a valid solution. The overwhelming majority of the time it is better to have the image there on the forum during a discussion, for instance if it shows a graph or other such pertinent visual information, rather than just posting a link to it. The reason for that is most people taking part in the discussion will see an image if it's embedded, but the number of people that will follow through with clicking links is much lower. Having to follow links breaks the flow of the discussion, whereas if the image is there immediately to hand and can be included in quotes by others etc, then it helps the discussion flow much better.

What are you even babbling about, no one is going to 'leave NationStates forever' nor will they 'get furious' over this change considering that all the major image hosting sites are already on the whitelist, so all that's left is people just requesting adding specific sites to the whitelist (as opposed to just...saving and uploading an image someone wants to use to one of the sites that's already approved? I don't really get it).

...yes I'm aware...but how is this strictly relevant regarding whether to add the BBC News or not? The specific domain that would be needed is only really relevant to the admins, it has no real bearing on whether to include BBC News on the list or not...

Yes, linking BBC News images is indeed not working. The following is a sample image from the BBC News site, it won't let me use it (hence why I've had to put the code tags around it to even let me post it):

I cant upload images on Imgur, because of a server error, and the whitelisted image hosting sites are unapproved!

This is outrageous!

I am making a TWI news post, and imgur's servers are down!

now I cant look for an approved alternative

What about Miraheze, the server for NS Sports Wiki? I believe the server isn't player-controlled (since NSSports Wiki runs on Miraheze as a subdomain).
