The March of the Rebirth Song

What's that I hear upon the road?
Over mountains,
Over hills,
Deserts where no rivers have flowed,

A song of life and rebirth,
A ballad of power and grace,
A tale of confidence and self-worth,
A Song of Rebirth marches over the earth.

Under the light of a newborn sun,
All battles are won,
And the shadows no longer seem long,
for that is the power of the Rebirth Song.

I wrote some poetry for a college class last year. I'll share some of the less cringe poetry.

Sand between my toes
Warm of the sun on my hair
Standing on the beach

Cheese
Tasty, yummy
Chewing, swallowing
Colors dancing in my mouth
Dairy

It's in my brain
I stare, I judge
You're ugly, you're fat, you're stupid
Good thoughts, good words, good deeds
I'm missing the first part
Am I a jerk?
Am I no different?
From the mean girls
From the bullies
That haunt the world outside my bubble
I'm bringing the filth in
I only insult people inside my mind
But that's bad enough

While I admit I have possiblity
I know not why people think I'm clever
I may have some slight creativity
But my art will not last forever

My friends are right, and I am wrong
I am in the moral minority
My beliefs were evil all along
My philosophies are insanity

I sit at the desk penning my sorrow
Through the window the sun shines bright
I try to think things will be better tomorrow
But I know that statement is not at all right

My achievements are spare and small
I know not why people like me at all

Peace

Like a soothing wind it flows,
still, calm, beautiful, a rose.
It bears no thorns or anonymity,
only peaceful, pervasive tranquility.

It cures all worries and woes,
it forces no thought, no evil, no prose,
It sits so sweetly over reality,
it has no trigger or causality.

It's soothing petals never close,
for as a rose it always grows,
its soothing touch needs no ability,
only a mind ready for tranquility.
