My friend bugged me about it. At first, I didn't want to do it cuz I thought he was a nerd, but I finally created one, and I almost never do anything else.

I’ve posted this before, but I saw a video on ibxtoycat’s side channel, was interested, and created a nation. It wasn’t Esthe yet, it was called Fundon, and it eventually gave the password away and it got DEATd a few days later (this was in my troublemaker stage). I also had a second nation called Lookey, which CTEd. This was the third, and I ended up sticking to it.

I remember being bored and searching up nation games or something like that. I clicked on nation states and I logged in. I played for a little bit on a different nation but then I stopped playing because the whole website was still very strange. And then I was bored again and payed nation states, where I made the current nation that I have right now.

I got into a phase where I kinda just wanted to simulate ruling a country, so I went looking for games that were kind of like HOI4 but more on the political aspects and less on the war aspects. I found NS and got really interested in the storytelling aspects of how everyone is able to share their creations with each other. The community and different walks of life all in one universe interacting with each other got me hooked.

One of my longtime online friends posted a link to his nation on LiveJournal (yes, it was THAT long ago!). I was intrigued, came here and created Sarzonia.

Sometime later, I discovered the RP forums, and the rest is history.

Was really into Total War and Civilization, didn't have enough computer space, found this looking for "strategy war nation building" games. Got hooked on p2tm. This was back when I was "The BaRen", when p2tm was in it's heyday to me. Awesome community. Recently came back, mainly for the community.

I was actually on another similar site first; Politics and War (which i'm not sure how I got to, either from Reddit or Youtube), which has more mechanics compared to NS. Kinda got bored of it and searched for other similar sites. found the more popular option and moved over here.

Full: Have been searching for games like this in 2019, but I have found only those that have had no balance between new and old players, so I haven't played them. 2 years later after spending over 4000 hours in HOI4 and getting bored with Power & Revolution I have wanted to find something similar. Started searching for browser political games again, and found Drew's video, I haven't watched it, I have just copied "NationStates" from description and went there.
(Only when he did 2nd video in September 2021 I decided to watch them both)
