I searched for how to create a nation. I accidentally clicked on the link to NationStates and created
Forhillia.

I came because of Drew Durnil, but I discovered his videos on this website a year after the fact, and I was not part of the initial wave of people that broke the website.

I wanted to play a nation-building game that didn't require actual money to do things, like Simcountry, so I came here.

My sister told me about NationStates and how she had to do it for a year and write a report on how her time went. I decided to try it just 'cause I was bored and uhm... I got addicted really fast. This game is so much fun, and I'm really glad she told me about it. Now I have a fun way to spend spare time in classes.

I was introduced by a friend, and was instantly hooked. And look where that got me! Almost one full year on NS, and I've made a bunch of friends, founded my own region, and a lot more! Some of it dark, however. *soft, cold chuckles*

I was searching on the web for military uniforms and custom ones until I stumbled at one certain picture that caught my interest (a custom soviet uniform). So I went into the website and it directed me to someone's factbook. As I read that guys factbook (about military if I remember and its outfits) I realized that the website is a nation making stuff and decided to try making my own, cause why not?

No. I wasn't aware of Drews presence because i don't watch his content. It just happened that i joined right at that time.

A couple of people on
http://conclavethe.proboards.com discovered NS and posted about it, and a bunch of us joined and made a (now defunct) Conclave region, which at its height had 17 nations. I’m the only one left, to my knowledge.

I honestly don't really remember how I got into this game. I do remember joining Cyber Nations around the same time that I joined NS with this account, so I can only assume my twelve year old self had googled 'nation creation website', or something similar to that. Why I'd googled that, I don't know, I think I may have wanted to create my own fictional nation to use as a setting for stories I was writing at the time (I've always loved writing stories for my own amusement and I guess I wanted them to be set in a fictional nation for reasons?) because I do know for certain that I used Gandoor as the setting for a story I wrote as part of a school assignment to write a short story when I was thirteen and in 8th grade. (Although certainly that Gandoor had little to do with how I depict Gandoor nowadays, especially considering I didn't join these forums until December 2010, when I was 14, and that was when I actually began developing Gandoor's canon and lore. [I remember visiting the Jolt Forums once or twice after I first joined, but never participated for whatever reason. Dunno why, I've been using forums since I was ten.])

I was on Simcountry for a little while after I joined here, just curious to see what other nation simulator sites were out there. It seemed cool at first but I got bored fast and ended up all but forgetting about it - whereas I'm quickly coming up on a decade here.

I like playing games with choices mostly text-based games and this game somehow pops up in my search. I really tried to answer issues based on what I believe is right at first but then after reading the first 2 of them I find them absurd and I decided to just focused on economy and finally got it up to 100/100 lol.

Got into the game when I was more politically active and someone from an Europeanist group shared their nation. I joined, and then a new rabbit hole spawned.
Ironically went to love the game more the day after I received my second Self-made in Team Fortress 2.

I was making an account on Spike Vipers website and it had an option to link your NS nation so I searched up what NS was and now I've been using the same nation ever since!

I was really more into it like 10 years ago.
Now i just visit it once in a while, I generally find the forum pretty boring.
I don`t think the forum is the problem, its probably that i have gotten to old for this forum.
I did have a nation about 10 years ago that is lost. It cased to exist over 8 years ago
