How did you get into NS?

I was really more into it like 10 years ago.

Now i just visit it once in a while, I generally find the forum pretty boring.

I don`t think the forum is the problem, its probably that i have gotten to old for this forum.


I did have a nation about 10 years ago that is lost. It cased to exist over 8 years ago

I feel you bro. When you're on a site mostly populated by teenagers, and then you become, well, not a teenager anymore, it becomes increasingly hard to relate to whatever's even going on anymore.

I remember the original Fransikania by the way - crazy that that was 10 years ago already!

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if a plurality of users on this site are at least in their 20s and older. It just seems like there are more teens on this forum because they'll likely have more free time, unless you're out of work (like I am) or have a job where you can visit this site while working, so they'll be the most active users.

Since I've been working from home more (due to the lockdown) I have found myself coming back to NS more often.

Unfortunately I barely have time focus on RP'ing anymore. Being able to take the time to sit down and focus on writing a post has gotten almost impossible when I've got a dozen other things on my mind.

I've always loved political/government games. Started playing Nationstates and Cybernations since they were free when I was about 9. I've played off and on ever since. Usually, I play for a year or two, lose interest, stop playing a couple of years then come back. I had been off Nationstates for about 4 years until two months ago, one of my real-life family members was getting really into it and persuaded me to come back.

I was bored one day, and decided to search up "314159265358979323846264338327950", which happened to be an NS region. And so I made my first nation, this.

Alright, I’m not going to half-ass this post. I’m going to go full out typing paragraph(s).

The very first time i have heard about this website, i had googled nation creator game, and this website was one of the results. I did not join the forums until when i made this nation, and my First Nation on this website is now gone, reduced to ones and zeroes. I don’t remember much about my first times being here, that being on this website, but i did make some crappy factbooks. I did join the RMB’s and possibly made my own region during one October, but that’s all i can remember.

I don’t really know why i came back here, but i do know that i will stay here. I now find this more fun than when i did when i was in the RMB’s. I might still pop up in some random RMB, and possibly have my own open to the general public, that being raiders don’t ruin the region.

Personal identity crisis due to having changed cities a lot and living away from my home region (and the resultant estrangement among other things) sort of resulted in a certain worldview that later became a parallel world thing. Then I came across NS one day searching for 'Wargames'.

I had an old friend online that was pretty politically oriented that loved the site for the satire and made a nation. He introduced me to it and I slowly fell into the realm of enjoying the storytelling and the worldbuilding. He kind of fell out of the game since then while I have been on and off enjoying the site overall all these years with a friend group of mine.

Edit: He actually was learning to be a graphic artist at the time and made this flag way back around the founding of my nation. I still talk to him on occasion but thanks again to him for inviting me to this site and giving me a hobby for years. I even had a proper flag of his design made a couple of years ago.
