What does this have to do with the Floyd?

Are you kidding g me? This has gotta be one of Pink Floyd's most famous song lyrics from the end of "Another Brick In the Wall" Part 2

I don't know many Pink Floyd songs, but of the ones I know, Eclypse/Brain Damage has got to be one of my favourites

Oops. I don’t listen to The Wall much, it feels too dark. Sorry, just a momentary lapse of reason.

Even non-fans know where that comes from.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Even this butcher gets it, and this butcher (most likely) didn't dedicate an entire thread to Pink Floyd

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

Meddle through Animals i adore. Wish you were here was one of the first albums I bought for myself.

It took me 3 years to realize how much I hated the wall. I do hate the wall, self absorbed whining load of crap.

I also was at the wall concert at Nassau Coliseum. I never saw cops looking to provoke a riot as much as they were that night. Enjoyed the show though.

"Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day"

So here's how I discovered Pink Floyd. As a youngster I had to go into my older sister's bedroom for Somthing. Her and one of her friends had Dark Side of the Moon playing while they seperated seeds from plant matter using the album jacket and a playing card. It's just my opinion, but I don't really care for anything pre wish you were here. Syd may have inspired some great music, but he didn't collaborate on any. The Wall was a tough act to follow, so I'll give The Final Cut some slack. Everthing after that is just David trying to capture what Roger took with him when he left.
The band is just fantastic
That is really what I think
Oh by the way, Roger is Pink

You must be the only person I’ve seen that doesn’t like dark side of the moon.

I love Dark Side of the Moon, and some of the early stuff like See Emily Play. But they lost me with Animals and all the stuff after that, too ponderous. I also dislike quite a lot of the experimental side of the earlier stuff, Still Time has one of my favourite lyrics of all time, though nowadays I fast forward through the clocks.

Actually I think that Animals is a rather underrated album, but yeah, it would’ve been nice if Ummagumma was a single live album.
