Bizarre Itch.io Games: A Thread

Postby Lemmingry » Sun Feb 14, 2021 8:59 am

What is itch.io?
Itch.io is an indie game site, where you can publish your projects if you don't want them to take off(Well, Among Us is an exception, but that's not the point). This gives the site an opportunity to harbour very obscure and weird games.

This is a listing of niche games I found on itch.io. All are free to play and playable through HTML5. However, almost all of them have dark themes, so play with caution.

Can you stop Jeremy Corbyn from joining ISIS?
Text-based adventure game, where you take the role of a quirky UK citizen, trying to stop Jeremy Corbyn from his fate of joining ISIS.

It's The White Man's Burden, Charlie Brown!
A nice and cheery Thanksgiving game about Charlie Brown's nightmares.

SKATE OUT!
A psychological horror game about skateboarding. This one has been especially nostalgic for me as I used to go skateboarding and used it to run away from my problems.

You Are Jeff Bezos
A simulation game you cannot lose. Wow, good one, Kris Ligman! You showed those capitalists who's boss.

I will add more if I can find more bizarre ones.

I've got a couple.

One of the Buttons
You're a ghost in a hospital, trying to find out how you died. Mature content warning.

Parsnip
A cute game about a bunny and friends! Hand-drawn graphics, and looks nice. Mature content warning.

The Testimony of Trixie Glimmer Smith
Sequel to Parsnip. VN-style Lovecraftian horror adventure game. Mature content warning (obviously). Not free-to-play.
<WARNING!!> Sleep [ ▋▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ▁ ]

<CRITICAL!!> F7 [ ▋▋▋▋▋▋▋▋▋▋]
Strength Through Unity | La force via l'union

I just played Parsnip and it was great. I heard about it before, but I didn't think that it would be the way it was. It was kind of sad actually.
At least the squirrel girl survived.
