Ooh, ooh, I want to state the obvious, too.

There is not a single piece of Star Wars media that does not involve a lightsaber, lasers, or punches.

Ep 1 was about the emergence of a malicious force, formerly hidden - something you might call a "phantom menace". Also in ep 6, somehow the Jedi returned?

But, “The Phantom Menace” isn’t an action, so I see LD’s point here. But the Jedi did return.

I just thought about this, and I realized it made more sense as Jedi in the singular since Luke was the only Jedi who returned during the movie. Maybe everyone knew that, but I just realized it.

It’s mostly a joke on my part, the titles do generally describe stuff - my nitpicking on return for instance is that the Jedi don’t “return” from anywhere (and there’s actually fewer by end of movie), so it’s not a proper “return.” :p

I guess Luke was in hiding and since he appeared as such a major figure he returned? I’m pretty sure he was known for the Battle of Yavin though.

If we take other Star Wars media into account, it does show that the Jedi never really went away, as many force users were still active throughout this period (Ahsoka, Ezra and Kanan in Rebels).

It will always be there if you end up wanting to watch it later. Sometimes its good to take a break from franchises or series and do/watch/play some other things to cleanse your palate for a while.

Speaketh good yes period question mark

I mean no point in playing or watching something if you feel done with it for a while or its no longer fun, happened to me with Paradox video games for a while there last year where the only one i really played was HOI4 and that was every now and then.

+1, it's entertainment media, if you don't wanna watch it, don't. Maybe you won't swing back around and that's okay. Maybe you will and you'll fall in love all over again!

Also the Inquisition has been notified of your reticence, we will be monitoring the situation

Are the rumors true that George Lucas hates the new Obi-Wan series? I can understand feeling too old and wanting to leave your creation (Star Wars) in good hands for after you die, but there are no take backs. For better or worse- Disney came to purchase Star Wars and is holding onto it. That is the reality of things.

To what extent did George Lucas choose right or wrongly in consenting to Disney purchasing the IP? If it didn't go to Disney in an alternate timeline, what other company out there could've hoped to own it and not wind up selling it to Disney at a later date? What company if not Lucasfilm/LucasArts would have kept maximum honor/value to the franchise and its true canon/vision?

I have never had any sympathy for Lucas. He sold out for a big payday. He doesn't get to whine that the people he sold it off to aren't doing it the way he likes.

That is true, but George Lucas is nonetheless; probably the single best source of information for what Star Wars is supposed to be, or so far as it's canon/lore goes. At least until after he dies of old age. As the creator, he built the groundwork for entire story/universe. With other writers adding to it over time.

It's unfortunate George changed and messed around with original/prequel trilogy and other material too much, and got drawn into wanting to constantly make small tweaks/re-releases of what was fine as it was, but he did try too hard for perfection which got us to much the opposite.

Editing the movies from original versions made people give less credibility/importance to what he says as mattering anymore. As opposed to if he left established things alone, or was more hands off so far as older stuff goes.

If George Lucas hasn't gone crazy like Steven Seagal, any lore/universe knowledge he has to say at all, should be recorded somewhere for consideration in future works before he's lost to us.

We need the best equivalent there is, to a Holocron from him while there is still time.

If I recall, he or one of the old guards of Lucasfilm provided a lore bible to Disney and there was an implied expectation that they'd follow it. They threw it out for whatever reason but I sympathize with the man.

I think Episode five might have been my favourite episode of the whole series so far, definitely a big improvement over the last episode.

So yeah Reva wanted to kill Vader, i suspected that from the start and as expected Vader completely outclassed her and gutted her but she still lives and now knows about Luke. So i expect the next episode will be her going to Tatooine and Obi Wan rushing to stop her. I wonder though if Vader and Obi Wan are gona fight each other again properly because if their fight in episode three is the only fight the two had id be disappointed. Though him using his words to try and convince then use Reva as a weapon against Vader was also pretty neat.

Also Vader just stopping that ship like it was nothing was fucking awesome but i suspected it would be an autopilot ship, though for a brief second when he did start ripping the hull apart i thought people were gona come flying out too.

Nice to see a bit more of Hayden in this episode, i figure people are gona be very pleased with the flashback scenes this episode. Also rip Tala, i liked her, mainly because Indira Varma is awesome but i wasnt too surprised she got killed either.

I do think Bail was a bit dumb though sending that message, like he didnt need to specify about the planet he would be going to or mention the kids lol

1/10 still no helicopter lightsaber flying action but we do get some spinny lightsaber action which is cool but not as cool as if they used the lightsabers to fly.
