I'm with the Loremaster, the thing that stuck out and excited me the most was the glimpse of the Imperial Senate. That's going to be so cool to see. I wonder how involved Palpatine will be in this series, he's gotta make a cameo at least, right?

Am I the only one who doesn't think he's even interesting enough for his own show? We knew him for one movie, and he was like the 7th most interesting character in it.

Watched the first two Obi Wan episodes since i have the day off, i thought they were very good for the most part but nothing spectacular so far.

I figured he would go off of Tatooine to try and draw attention away from Luke with the Inquisitors snooping around but him leaving to try and rescue Leia makes a lot of sense actually. Felt bad for that jedi that showed up in Tatooine, poor fucker didnt stand a chance but i can also see why Obi Wan didnt want to help him, or Leia originally for that matter. Man is broken inside and has been hiding for 10 years to try and keep Luke safe, he is clearly at rock bottom.

I was also not expecting to see Leia and Alderaan as well which was cool. Speaking of Leia, i like the child actress playing her, think she is doing a good job but those two chase sequences with her were really weird lol, like its a 10 year old girl, you mercenaries can outrun her and grab her immediately so it looked really awkward that she was out running them.

Reva is.... eh so far, the Actress's acting has not done much for me and im not super into the character at the moment, but ill reserve judgement till the end of the series. She is definitely one of those Padawan's at the start during the Order 66 flashback (which was really cool) and i imagine that is how she got captured and turned into an inquisitor (and also probably how she knows Anakin is Vader as she might have seen him in the temple slaughtering people).

Also im like 99% sure the Grand Inquisitor is not dead, people in star wars have survived far worse than a gut stab with a saber and we see his death in Rebels. I imagine he will be healing or something for the rest of the series and in one of the trailers im near certain Reva is being shot at on that Inquisitor water base so maybe she ends up being targeted by the Inquisitors or the Empire for almost killing him and goes rogue or something.

I think there is room to explore some interesting stuff with Andor. He comes from the separatist side of the Clone wars having fought for the CIS based on what i can remember from Rogue one and one of my favourite parts of Rogue One was that it showed the darker elements of the Rebellion such as Saw's partisans (carrying out open ambushes in markets full of civilians, torturing people etc) and Cassian himself murdering an informant and trying to assassinate Jyns father originally instead of rescuing him.

Since this show has the same writers i hope they can continue with these elements/themes from Rogue One and if they can do it well i think it can make for a very very interesting show about rebel spies and the early days of the civil war.

Obi Wan Kenobi-
I guess how the Force manifests in Leia is that she's a ten year old girl who can out run adults in a straight line. I mean, they gave her some cool jook and move bits but there were too many straight shots where they were chasing her like Marlon Brando was chasing his grandchild in the orchard when he dies in The Godfather.

That comparison was too long of a walk.

Having to write what Leia would be like as a ten year old is kind of daunting. Of course filling up the universe now means you also break it a little. Her message to Obi Wan said "You fought beside my father in the Clone Wars instead of, you know, 'hey, remember that time they kidnapped me to get to you and then you rescued me anyway? Gonna have to do that again.'

I'm cool with it so far. I like how it's shot. Despite the ridiculously awkward scenes were an adult doesn't instantly overtake a 10 year old, especially one he doesn't care if he hurts, the action was pretty cool, and the camera flow through the crowds and the surroundings n'stuff. Reva's parkour sequence was a bit odd...also how far away was she that Obi Wan and Leia got to have a little heart to heart, Kumail Nanjiani having a sudden turn...or not, and then book it before she makes it to the alley.

I wonder if they're trying to set up why Obi Wan fights all stiff in Star Wars but all ninja in the prequels. I would have accepted 'he's an old man now' but whatever.

I have decided to alleviate my 'there's not enough time between Revenge of the Sith and New Hope for all this shit to have happened and decide those are space years, but humans in a galaxy far far away age by space years, so they're physically 10 earth years but they've been around like 20 earth years. It's needless complicated, it solves a problem that's not really a problem, and I'm sticking to it.

Still though, very pretty. Well shot. High five cinematographer, director, and choreographer. Set design, too. Looks really really good.

hoooooo, thank god I remembered to hit preview. Almost fucked up those spoiler tags.

So I liked quite a few things about it. The way they handled Obi Wans grief was pretty good I would say. And I like how they explored the Jedi being extremely compassionate people and how that gets them killed under the empire. And Leia as a kid being a menace was fun. Oh and we saw the attack on the temple because Star Wars loves dick punching me with Order 66. That and the homeless clone veteran(I really hope Cody appear or is at least mentioned.)

However they made some odd choices here. Like Reva stabbing the Grand Inquisitor, we know he survives but I feel like they have handled him weirdly. That and how Reva knows Vader is Anakin. Like I thought that was not something most people knew. I guess the inquisitors would be the most likely people to know but I feel like Reva could have just mentioned Vader and Obi Wan would have known that was Anakin.

Overall I liked it but there were some iffy choices in there.
I do be tired

He literally can't be according to Disney's own continuity. While that hasn't stopped them before, there's never been a contradiction of such significance.

Saw this. Very interested.

Huskar, you read my thoughts exactly on Kenobi so far. I don’t have anything to say except:

Who when Obi-Wan said “You remind me of someone” to Leia? At first I thought it was Anakin, but then I considered Satine as well. Thoughts?

Also, anyone have ideas for who Obi might join up with? Or is he a loner throughout the series?

BREAKING: At approximately 8:00 AM on the morning of May 27, a team of eight gunmen entered a Riftan community square during a Summer’s Eve celebration. They opened fire, hitting over fifty people in minutes. Surveillance showed the gunmen inspect their damage before they divided into pairs and swept through the plaza and the adjoining markets. Two members of the team were killed by civilians. The first had his weapon stolen as he entered a building and was shot, and the second was his partner, who was killed by civilians using the same weapon. Roughly thirteen minutes after the shooting began, the gunmen entered a firefight with a two security officers before the shooters were apprehended.

Some of my Thoughts watching as they came without context:

"oh yeah, nothing says we badasses more than ignoring local traffic regulations and just parking in the middle of the street. "

"yeah I'm not Christoph Waltz but right now I'm reminding you of Christoph Waltz and now you're starting to wish I was Christopph Waltz I mean how cool would that have been."

"I took it one piece at a time, it never cost me a dime...."

"Oh right, Animal Friendship is canonical..."

"Wow they made the Jawas into actual people, nice!"

"Leave a message after the beep. I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."

"...Yeah, just spy on a neighbor and watch his 10 year old kid, that's not weird..."

"meet me be behind the spaceport, at 2 o clock and bring a long wooden box."

"Dang Luke, you got jipped,..."

"I'm now with filled with existential dread over it must be like to have a master than can just turn your consciousness on and off at will"

"Looking for Kenobi in Alderaan places"

"Matt Santos moved up in the world, though those 10 years look like they were hell"

"Damn Regina George, she just called you a bitch..."

"Yes Leia, these people are gonna look to you lead them, protect them. Don't worry, you're gonna do a great job."

"I'm supposed to believe they couldn't keep up with a 10 year old?"

"2 WORDS: I. AM. RETIRED"

"You're retired when I say you're retired."

"...what accent is that supposed to be Jimmy"

"Yeah I'm a dick to droids, I'm so tough"

"Shit was it 100 paces west from that dune or that one"

"Good thing the topography of that desert didn't change at all over ten years"

"LOL if only Vader had known you kidnapped his daughter."

I saw that no one mentioned this but, Why does Ben live in a Cave. In a New Hope, we saw his house, but for some reason, he has a cave. Also, my explanation for Leia not mentioning the kidnapping in a New Hope is because she was looking for Obi-Wan Kenobi when in the show, he told her that his name was Ben. Aside from that, the acting seems pretty good, the Jedi scam artist was hilarious and had good commentary , or at least references to, scams. Do I care if a Vader versus Kenobi fight ruins the continuity, not really? And I hope there is more action similar to the prequels.

Nah, I'm with you. I don't give a shit about Andor.

To reiterate what Huskar already kinda said, it's not really about Andor, I certainly don't care about him either, but he'll be a great conduit to explore what life was like during the rise of the Empire and the start of the Rebellion.
