But this is fine honestly. It allows me to fully free myself from this franchise. There's no reason to invest myself in a universe that isn't internally consistent.

And yet you'll still be here, acting like everything Disney does with Star Wars is some personal slight against you...

Maybe. Maybe not. What'll probably end up happening is that I note when someone is in error in this thread to prevent misinformation from spreading.

When you've invested hundreds of dollars in the franchise, yeah it stings a bit when they invalidate everything you care about. I don't expect you to understand arguments predicated on such linear logic though.

How do you guys think the Bad Batch will end? A few arcs and a finale against *insert main antagonist here*

They admit in the first paragraph that it's not actually a retcon.

Plus I wouldn't trust screenrant as far as I could throw them. They are on par with IGN a lot of the time when it comes down to poor information and blatant bias. They are more interesting in sparking outrage than anything else because that gets views. But as seen it clearly works.

The reality is the same as it'd always been: the only hard canon are the filmworks: The movies and shows. Every thing else is soft canon or apocryphal.

You say that but if that was the case then the original Clone Wars (2003-05) should be in there too but it isn't. And the reality is George Lucas's involvement was just a big in that as TCW, if not more considering it was leading into ROTS while he was making it.

I believe that the Bad Batch, Rex, Wolffe, Gregor, Omega, and perhaps the Partisans will be found by Tarkin and Wulff Yularen and there will be a big showdown somewhere.

I also think that Tarkin is going to kill or otherwise neutralize the Kaminoans. I have a feeling one side will betray the other.

On an unrelated note has anyone else heard about the heart of the Jedi novel stuff recently?

So it was a novel which was made in 1992 but never released due to contracting issues or something along those lines. Recently, I think it was the author themselves who has made it into an unofficial paperback. And over the last month or two it has outsold all the current Disney cannon novels on Amazon. However, today Disney finally took it off. It doesn't say anything nobody already knew but I find absolutely hilarious regardless.

Unfortunately all of the sources I could find are from Star Wars themed YouTube channels.

Well i mean if its being sold as a star wars novel, even an unofficial one that was bound to cause issues that would get Disney involved. Like that just makes sense imo and should have been obvious.

Excluding CW03 was itself a correction of the Canon Lucas wanted done.

"Filoni: The way George explained it to me going in was that THE CLONE WARS micro-series was really an experiment to see what kind of audience there was for Star Wars in an animated form. There have been droids and Ewoks, but that was a long time ago. So he brought out THE CLONE WARS micro-series, and it was super action-packed and exciting and really short installments. And it proved that people wanted to see STAR WARS in a lot of different mediums. So when we into doing this, I think that, now that George is done with the prequels, he wanted to reestablish the rules a little bit more, like "Mace Windu can't take out hundreds of battle droids by himself, otherwise the arena on Geonosis would've been a wipeout; [The jedi] would've won, and there be no Clone Wars. Those are exciting installments, but we don't tie directly into them; we tie more directly into the film that preceded us, ATTACK OF THE CLONES, and the one that comes after us, REVENGE OF THE SITH. We take cues from [Tartakovsky's series]. I definitely pay a big homage to them in some of the design look of it. Anakin wears an outfit that was definitely inspired by what we saw in the other CLONE WARS. But there's no direct link-up."

Yeah I guess so. Probably some subconscious bias on my end towards preferring the old CW compared with TCW.

I mean thats not really suprising tbh. I´m not a lawyer but like selling a Star Wars book without Disneys permission seems like a pretty clear copyright violation.

Well thats subjective, i personally find AOTC, TPM and TROS to be crap for the most part but I subscribe to the school of letting people enjoy things so its all good.

Times like these I always like to re-watch Mikey Neumann's retrospective on the reception of eps 1-7 on release.

Dude same. I'm super interested in getting the High Republic comic series as well, but I'm waiting for the full volume releases rather than buying issue by issue.

I like to tell myself I'd read one of the new novels if I bought it, but in truth it'd probably just end up gathering dust on my shelf because I'd tell myself "I'll read it when I have the time" but never make the time for it.

That's true at least. Most media today is blatant sensationalism simply trying to stir up people's emotions.
