Heard Disney did another retcon ( still trying to find a good rip of episode 1 ). Just seems kind of funny to me given a lot of Disney Canon fans I see on the internet talk about how the EU retconned and was inconsistent ( even though this only really holds true when Lucas involved himself and the EU in fact had an entire apparatus to catalogue and categorize everything that got published under different levels of canon even creating systems to dictate priority where potential contradictions might occur ) yet even after clearing out everything Disney can't even decide on basic backstories for characters like Finn or the particular character from Bad Batch I'm referencing.

Just kind of ironic that's all.

Yeah, that good old different levels canon system really worked out. Especially taking into consideration how Lucas included some of the elements of the EU into the Prequel Trilogy (the Coruscant first appeared in the Thrawn trilogy).
For me one of the main problems with EU was quite a lot of plot holes (The Starcrusher being a litteral flying flustercuck for example), some really terrible characters (like admiral Daala) and some REALLY QUESTIONABLE timeline decisions (yeah sure let’s make a time skip of 100 FREAKING YEARS after 28 ABY), but that fades in comparison with the things that Disney did.
Also I dislike Disney because they support liberal agenda and cooperated with the commies in China but that’s a story for another day.

Jesus Christ like seriously, the condescension off of some star wars fans is unbelievable. This attitude here which reeks of self appointed notions of superiority and disdain is why i stopped interacting with the star wars fandom regularly outside of NS. It is just not worth it and ive contemplated doing it with this thread as well and just calling it quits.

After 20 years people need to wind their fucking necks in over how they treat people over a bunch of movies.

Personally, I don’t particularly care that the old EU isn’t technically canon anymore, since it probably won’t affect my enjoyment of the bits of it I have read (or may hypothetically read), nor affect my enjoyment of any of the new stuff I may possibly read.

Sure - I’m still sad about that. I’m more low-key saying I don’t think it’s the greatest to project those feelings onto the new (in the individual level, not liking that there’s new stuff to replace the old is cool on the general level). To borrow the analogy, I have no issue with being saddened by the end of WoY & see being annoyed by a hypothetical reboot existing being valid, I don’t think it worthwhile to not take the new stuff as it is (more or less, I won’t claim to be immune to what I’m complaining about).

My Opinion on the Bad Batch (Spoilers)

I enjoyed the Bad Batch so far, but I’m really disappointed to see they didn’t join the Empire. Now before i get attacked by the whole site again, I have my reasons. I wanted to see how their different personalities would go in the Empire. Since they’re so unorthodox then I wanted to see how that would work in the empire as well. But with Crosshair gunning for them, then I’m not sure how that will turn out, but I think that he’ll tragically die in the end, Hunter will probably kill him and then he’ll regret it.
