I wonder if it will be another Imperial or if it will be someone else, maybe a pirate lord or something. Though i guess they are setting up Bo Katann to try and take back Mandalore again so that might factor into it.

I really hope we get to see Mandalore and more Mandalorian lore. With the Grogu arc kinda resolved I think it will take center stage. Maybe we can get some more Mandalorian villains for Din to go against.
I do be tired

He came out of the bathroom right after they left and has been wondering what happened to them the entire time.

Theres precedent, it happened in the Clone Wars if I am remembering correctly. It's not hard to imagine the energy producing part of the blaster misfiring or otherwise becoming inoperable, or perhaps the trigger getting jammed. Who knows.

Maybe it was a plasma weapon of some sort, so it's still shooting a projectile. Otherwise a 'jam' could occur in that the power supply is interrupted and they just use 'jammed' as a vernacular rather than specifically accurate term.

Well they set up Thrawn for Ahsoka; I'm hoping wr see more of Gideon, but I want a different big bad overall. Gideon was beat but not menacing enough to really hold the series as the primary enemy. He needs to be working for someone. Theres always a bigger fish

I don't think this part needs to be spoilered, but all of the Mondo-verse spin offs, the ones that take place during the same time period, all will culminate in on over arching story. Thrawn seems like the Thanos of that story.

I don't think this needs to be spoilered.

others have pretty much covered it, but even in projectile weapons jams can occur that have nothing to do with the ammo. It has a cycle of operations and anything that will obstruct that cycle would be considered a jam.

Real mixed opinions on this episode. I think I prefer the last few episodes, honestly.

All that time spent building up Gideon and he’s done in about fifteen minutes. Highlights of Imperial impotence include,

— Zero injuries inflicted to the main characters.

— Stormtroopers being knocked unconscious through their armor. Literal Bronze Age soldiers would be better off than these technologically advanced science fiction troopers.

— No one noticed the “shuttle pilot” had a random woman’s voice.

— No way of preventing someone from flying down the fighter tube.

— Stormtroopers keep trying to arrest main characters after the shooting has already started. The average RL police officer would be more threatening.

And of course the Dark Troopers amount to nothing. The fight between Din and the one was good, really it was, but offing them all at once ruins it. Not to take away from Luke’s entrance, I think it would have been better if they escaped the room and triggered a long running battle that Luke would come in and deal with. Why would that room have a door leading into open space anyways? I was also thinking the Dark Troopers would be made out of all the Beskar the Empire stole as a way of tying their existence under Gideon to the attack on Mandalore the story keeps referencing, but no. I guess that would have made them too tough.

Honestly I feel bad for Imperial characters, not because the Empire is all that cool, but because things always end up stacked against them. The true underdogs. RIP female officer who kept getting face shots but went unnamed in the end. RIP TIE pilot that ended up unable to launch.

The writers are straight up allergic to tension. Do I expect the Empire to win in the end? No, no one does, but there are better ways to do action sequences. I thought the end of season 1 was very well done since the heroes struggled for the first real time that season. Here the fighting was wrapped up more quickly than normal, and this was supposed to be the climax of the season’s story.

I get the feeling Gideon will show up for season 3, but after finally giving him uniqueness as a main antagonist, they ended up resolving his threat offhandedly. I would hope they have a more interesting antagonist for the next season. You permanently lose villain credibility if the heroes capture you.

Luke showing up was great and all, but I don’t know. Star Wars has been held up by OT references since the 90’s. A direct appearance from a film character just doesn’t feel all that special these days. With that kind of CGI only getting better, there will never be a shortage of OT guest appearances.

He also has such flat dialogue. So many writers treat Luke like the whole character is just that scene where he speaks to Jabba at the start of VI. He’s so incredibly formal that Mark Hamill’s face becomes the only thing making his appearances distinct. He could otherwise have been any generic Jedi. Guest appearance Luke feels like something off a checklist at this point.

His entrance was great and all, but it also affects how seriously the Dark Troopers can be taken so... eh.

That whole Bo-Katan has to take the Darksaber by force whatnot was ridiculous. That’s not how it was in Rebels, and can she really not just let it go? It’s directly antithetical to the previous episode’s point about how people will re-evaluate their priorities when shit hits the fan. Din’s removed his helmet several times at this point and she called him an extremist.

I feel like this could have been a more meaningful climax if this really had been the end of Din’s adventure. I just know Season 3 will bring back Grogu in some way because, come on, he’s a huge part of the show’s marketing draw. There’s a lot of casual watchers who follow the show because of him. I don’t know if something distinctly Star Wars-y like trying to take back Mandalore would keep them.

Not to sound completely negative, the episode had a lot going for it. The one on one fights were solid. The bar brawl with Boba was great, and I like his exchanges with Bo-Katan and her buddy. Live action Boba never had so much personality. Luke’s entrance was undeniably well done, and there’s definitely an emotional resonance to the scene where Grogu leaves.

And the Book of Boba Fett seems interesting. I’m glad the character is prominent again.

The Restored Danelaw wrote:
I've complained about this as well, but keep in mind. Bo-Katan has lost Mandalore to her enemies four times by this point in her life. She's specifically lost it to the Empire twice. Maybe it's not that the Darksaber "should be won", but that Bo-Katan -in particular- has no standing to claim Mand'alor again after losing the Saber -given to her freely- once and losing the whole fucking planet four times.

I agree. I’m getting tired of Bo-Katan and the Darksaber because it all tends to be the same story over and over again.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a plot point in one of the spinoffs.

BREAKING: At approximately 8:00 AM on the morning of May 27, a team of eight gunmen entered a Riftan community square during a Summer’s Eve celebration. They opened fire, hitting over fifty people in minutes. Surveillance showed the gunmen inspect their damage before they divided into pairs and swept through the plaza and the adjoining markets. Two members of the team were killed by civilians. The first had his weapon stolen as he entered a building and was shot, and the second was his partner, who was killed by civilians using the same weapon. Roughly thirteen minutes after the shooting began, the gunmen entered a firefight with a two security officers before the shooters were apprehended.

Nah it looks real enough to me. It just makes me think of someone's cosplay crossover, rather than actually Boba Fett.

I agree. I’m getting tired of Bo-Katan and the Darksaber because it all tends to be the same story over and over again.

where was the dude sidekick of hers? They didn't even mention him.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a plot point in one of the spinoffs.

Wow. Every word of what you just said was RIGHT

I wish squadrons had more of a storyline. I'm really tempted to buy an n64 so I can play rogue squadron again.

Where does it say they're claiming to be the same shuttle from the prologue rather than just another Lambda shuttle under fire?

So.

Do we think Grogu and R2 recognised each other and that's what finally convinced him to go?
