Best song you've ever listened to?

Similar to the one about the worst, but the exact opposite. Maybe you've heard a song so amazing you had it on repeat for a long time or is currently on repeat for you, what song would it be and why?

I'll settle with Know Your Enemy - Rage Against the Machine

On point production, energetic vocals, well-written lyrics, killer riffs, solos and basslines, and the drums are spot on. I've never put together a coherent list but that's always one I've listed.

Outside of rock/metal/alternative, my pick would be Da Mystery of Chessboxin - Wu Tang Clan. Backing is well-produced, while allowing the verses to take centre-stage. And rightly so. Each one is breathtaking, especially the final verse. (Funnily enough, that was first verse and only appearance from Masta Killa on the album, since he wasn't a member of the group when the album's production began.)

The various instrumental versions of Horst Wessel Lied. The lyrics I'll admit, aren't that great. But remixed or without any vocals, there is something about the melody which truly speaks to me. I get the sense that it'll live on for forever like the other timeless pieces of music.

A close place in my heart due to topic, “Siren”, by Tori Amos.

Then again, most stuff made by Tori Amos is my all time favorite. Her first album, ‘Little Earthquakes’, is a coming of age host of beloved songs for me. I was 13 years old when it came out and I have to say her music shaped my musical taste up to this day.

Idioteque is definitely my favourite song by the band. The more ambient-sounding tracks from Kid A (in particular the ones influenced by Aphex Twin) are quite something to behold.

Oh, that's a very tough choice. There are a lot of songs I really, really, really enjoy.

Above all, though, I'd probably say... the orchestral version of Damon Gant's theme from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

Mainstream, though, probably... ugh. Either Annabella or End of the World by Aphrodite's Child.

Tough choice! I listen to a lot of different music that's all over the place, so it's hard to pick a favorite. I'm into an obscure little subgenre called filk, which is basically folk music but in space. One of my favorite filksongs is Hope Eyrie, which is about Apollo 11. It's beautiful. It can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXteSV8rBwY

In terms of more mainstream stuff, I've been listening to a lot of '60s-'70s rock in the last year or so. Take It Easy by the Eagles is a lovely song, as are American Pie (by Don McClean) and Born on the Bayou by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Gods, just one? I’ve heard so many I personally deem as best...

I would say “Yes, Anastasia”, by Tori Amos is one of the best songs I’ve ever listened to.

I was thinking of Cold Feelings by Social Distortion, but Know Your Enemy by RATM and We're Only Gonna Die by Bad Religion are both really strong contenders.

Any 50-00' music is fantastic. You may disagree but let me tell you - those songs had more soul and awesomeness than the song that are being played today. Not saying that there aren't some good now songs - but eh.

I very much enjoyed Levitating by Dua Lipa (Feat. DaBaby) and would say it's my personal favorite.

I couldn't possibly pick one song. However, out of all of the 10/10 songs I know, if I was forced to pick, I'd immediately think of The Angelic Process - The Angelic Process - How to Build a Time Machine. This band is life. Illegal to listen to on shitty earphones.

I realise it's a bit too avant-garde for the average listener, so here's a more approachable alternate pick - Heart In Hand - Ghosts.
