I've listened to many OSTs in my lifetime.
At the moment I've been going through a Shoot'em up phase, so I've been listening to quite a bit of music from those games.
My favourite as of now are...

Thunder Force V.
R-Type Delta.
Einhander.
Ikaruga.

All really good in different ways.
Yugoslavia's back baby...

How the hell did this happen?
Well...we don't actually know. Just sort of happened one day.
Is it a reunited Yugoslavia in the 21st century? Is a rebel colony world in the far future? Is it a race of cyborg neo-life at war with any assimilating organisms they come across in the far far future? Who knows, who cares?
New Yugoslavia just is.

Sang I believe I didn't mention any anime. There's an anime adaptation of Rewrite, but there's that.

Sorry, I wasn't referring to anime as in your post but just anime OST in general.

I want to drop a mention here to the OST of my favourite childhood cartoon, The Dreamstone, which I doubt many here will have heard of (but kudos to anyone who has). It was a 22 minute after-school cartoon that aired in the UK in the early 90s, and was probably the finest animated series ever produced in the UK (sorry Danger Mouse fans, but it's the truth). After it finished in 1995, it disappeared into obscurity and not many people know of it today, but it had an unusually extravagant OST for an after-school kids show, featuring full orchestral arrangements performed by the London Philharmonic. A soundtrack album was even released in the 90s.

Probably the most notable track on the OST was "The War Song of the Urpneys": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn2hbazQ2CM

The main thing that made this song notable was the eccentric trio of artists assembled to provide the vocals. No joke, it was performed by the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne, Scottish comedian Billy Connolly, and former heavyweight boxer Frank Bruno. Good luck finding a more bizarre musical act than that.

Instrumental variations on the song appeared throughout the series whenever the urpneys were on screen. Here's a random example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBFUWlBbLkg

Where was your star?
Was it far, was it far?
When did we leave?
We believed, we believed, we believed

In the heat and the rain
With whips and chains
Just to see him fly
Too many died
We build a tower of stone
With our flesh and bone
To see him fly
But we don't know why
Ooh, now where do we go

Halo's soundtrack is pretty good as well.

Even if it's not actually timed as a proper waltz, "Rocket Jump Waltz" is an amazing little jingle, and I wish it was a lot longer whenever it plays on the loading screen.

Rocket Jump Waltz is so great, though my favourite TF2 track has to be Soldier of Dance. Or Right Behind You.

Recently King, Queen, and Slave, and generally other chill songs from the Persona series. Despair Searching from NDRV3 still tops my chill songs rank, though.

EDIT: on second thoughts, Chronomantic and like every single other Chrono Cross OST are really good and unique, though it might be because they come with a potent dose of nostalgia.

Theres no contest for me
BFG Division - Doom 2016
Just love Mick Gordon's performance with this one, really gets me in the mood to rip and tear demons until the days end.

Keep your rifle by your side - Far Cry 5
I know we aren't supposed to agree with these songs, but i can help but love this. FC5 held a good place in my heart, and this brings back good memories. Justice for The Deputy/The Judge, he didn't deserve his fate.

I Am a Poor Wayfaring Stranger - 1917
This one is always a tear jerker. It hits hard with the overall sad tone of the movie, and its story just feels right for it. Still sad and i feel a tear form alot listening to it.

Red Alert 3 - Soviet March
Hate them, love them, the Soviets had great taste in music. I feel russian just listening to it.

Russian theme - CoD World at War
ahhh the Nostalgia, Man I love that game dearly. It was one of the best. The Russian theme is so famous and noticable i had to list it. That and i must pay respects to the Hero of the Soviet Union, Dimitri. He should of died in Berlin.

Still on the subject of vibing, Trial Underground (especially the NDRV3 version) is a hype OST ought to be listened to while you're waiting to do something important. For more consequential and "final" events though, Judgment Day from FF7 is pretty good.

TF2 has one of the best OSTs, I agree.

Now that I've finished Evangelion, I can soundly say it probably has my second favorite soundtrack for a TV show, second only to Spongebob.
