The Third Man, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, or Spirited Away. Which is the best is subjective and changes with my mood really.

I'm not sure what would constitute as "the best movie" that I've viewed, really. I do like 80's animated movies like The Land Before Time and Plague Dogs
Gender: Male
Hobbies: Sitting around
Currently a slave to: the rock genre
Rhine Kingdom does not reflect my real-world views

Couldn't personally get much into that. Without ripping this thread off-topic, I found the blatant political messaging to be quite annoying. I wish they had done it in a more subtle way, might have enjoyed it more.

Days of Thunder, Home Alone and The Nightmare Before Christmas are my three favorites, Days of Thunder because of great writing and acting and how is takes NASCAR like a real sport (Unlike Talladega Nights). Home Alone because how it gives you that Christmas nostalgia and add some great and funny traps and you have a great Christmas film. And The Nightmare Before Christmas well, cmon you have seen it. great animation via stop motion, some of the greatest song ever in any film.

But it was kind of scary and boring for a war film

We like it because its a kinda scary and boring, I mean, its can't too exciting or we get Saving Private Ryan the Prequel. I understand you not liking it though.

Hm. I thought the screenplay was fantastic, the story was good, and the music was good. But I agree, I did find it a bit boring and outright odd at times. Overall still a good movie though, I agree.

"For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever!"- Romans 1: 21-25

1. Eyes Wide Shut (An incomplete film. Still the best film ever made)
2. Goodfellas (Childhood favorite for nearly 16 years)
3. The Sword in the Stone (Best Disney movie ever made)
4. Rocky 4
5. The Shining
6. Runaway Train
7. Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
8. Chronicle (2012)
9. Game of Death (An incomplete film)
10. Romper Stomper

Didn't make the list but I consider these to be absolutely flawless:

The Polar Express
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Heat (1995)
Kill Bill 1
Kill Bill 2
The Killing (1956)
Sucker Punch
Frozen 1
(I didn't like Frozen 2)
Fight Club
Star Wars: A New Hope
The Miracle Maker (2000)
Noah (2014)
The Road (2009)
Joseph King of Dreams
Coraline
Barry Lyndon
A.I Artificial Intelligence (This used to be in top 10)
A Series of Unfortunate Events
Pulp Fiction
The Warriors (1979) AND the video game (Best video game ever made)
Zatoichi (2003)
Godfather 2
Mean Girls
Emperor's New Groove
The Mist
Resident Evil (only the first movie)
Rocky 1
Home Alone
Harry Potter 1 and 2 alone (3 was only good because of Remus Lupin. The rest of the series failed because the first director left)

I'm sorry...

I think you can figure out just by looking at my flag
Shrek may or may not have killed three hundred million people
tl;dr - after nuclear war, corrupt oligarchical hellhole emerges. ogre leads revolution, kills oligarchs after civil war, improves quality of life with progressive social policies and industrialization. couple foreign invasions, assassination attempts, personal losses, and rebellions later, ogre goes psychotic and kills anyone he’s sus of. then a fascist midget invades and kills third of the population, ogre manages to defeat him but goes completely bonkers.
now we got a hyper-totalitarian hyper-militaristic industrial hive-mind quasi-slave state that the ogre 70 years ago would be horrified at
pro: communism, progressivism, national liberation, internationalism
anti: capitalism, imperialism, fascism, conservatism

I have to say my favorite movie is Megamind, it's a timeless classic for me and it's rewatchability conquers. The movie in every regard pulls at my heart strings and in all the right places. 10/10. My second best has to be Bolt.

  • Eraserhead (1977)
  • The End of the Tour (2015)
  • Vanilla Sky (2001)
  • The Lobster (2015)
  • They Live (1989)
