Best Fictional drug?

Postby The Blaatschapen » Mon Sep 14, 2020 6:00 am

So, what is your favourite fictional drug?

Is it Skooma (from Elder Scrolls)?
Is it giggle pig (Brooklyn 99)?
Or perhaps Utopium (iZombie)?

No discussions about actual drugs, that just happen to also be used in fiction. So the drug has to be completely fictional. No tobacco from the shire (lord of the rings) please.

And why is it your favourite?

I'll get a poll going once I have 10 options of drugs.

For me, personally, I like utopium. A drug that can turn a person into a zombie. That is seriously overpowered .

Alan Moore has created a number. My favorite is "Aklo," used in his Lovecraft tribute "The Courtyard." It's kind of a spoiler to describe what the drug actually does, but its mind expanding properties are more akin to reading "The King in Yellow" than taking any kind of drug.

Not really. Also, it is alcohol I think, which we have in RL :)

In the Hunger Games they mention morphling, but it sounds like it could just be morphine with a slightly different name

Definitively spice from Dune. It grants you life extension and magical powers, makes your eyes look pretty if you take enough AND if you really binge on it turns you into a horrible monster with absolute job security.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.
