My musical tastes sprawls from classic 70’s and early 80’s rock to Metal, but I would say my top three genres are Alt Rock (purely for muse and a few Radiohead songs that blow me away), Prog Rock (Rush, Yes, and Muse occasionally), and classic metal (Iron Maiden etc.). Anyone have good recommendations for a good Neoclassical Metal band? I’ve heard a bit from that genre before and it was pretty awesome.

Edit: oh and Primus is great too.

I mainly listen to hip-hop nowadays, with remnants of the metal I used to listen to (I was a huge metal head about until about two years ago) but I have started to branch my tastes out into electronic, pop and even some country in the form of 16 Horsepower which is like metal in country form. Oh, and a lot of alternative rock singer/songwriter as well.

Where was your star?
Was it far, was it far?
When did we leave?
We believed, we believed, we believed

In the heat and the rain
With whips and chains
Just to see him fly
Too many died
We build a tower of stone
With our flesh and bone
To see him fly
But we don't know why
Ooh, now where do we go

Changes from day to day. ^-^ Recently it's been a lot of Roots, before that Synthwave, and before that Lyrical focused Rap, but right now it's outsider music.
If my tone is coming off as a little harsh, please call me out on it, I rarely mean to come off that way.

I've noticed that my preference in music keeps changing rapidly all the time so it's difficult to pick just one genre.

As not really that guilty to say it, anything that comes from Japan, really.

More specifically J-Rock and J-Alternative Rock. Although, the website Every Noise at Once mentioned a genre called "J-Pixie", and Spotify's 2020 wrapped listed it as my top 4 genre. It seems that J-Pixie is essentially.....Japanese pop rock?

I've begin to like Electronic Music more with the years, lyrics don't do it for me anymore, the last good lyrics writer I remember was Noel Gallagher and I don't even listen much to that side of Music. No particular choice in Electronic though, I like anything from Old School House to what is now called Vaporware. Never liked Dubstep tho.

My favourite genre is electronic, but some of my favourite sub-genres include:

- French House (110-130bpm, heavy filtering and heavily manipulated samples. Popularised by Daft Punk.)

- Nu-disco (basically the proper name for that big disco revival that came about thanks to Get Lucky)

- Synth-pop (my happy music, pretty much)

Favourite artists include (but aren't limited to): Madeon, Porter Robinson, Daft Punk, Justice, Pendulum, Radiohead, deadmau5, Breakbot, Mr Oizo and Aphex Twin.
