Either as an independent socialist republic or a Soviet backed one, East-Africa can be dangerous with all those imperialist powers nearby. Freedom at Gunpoint unlocks decisions for waging liberation wars against the neighboring powers to release their colonial territories. Don’t worry though, this doesn’t mean successfully marching from Addis Ababa to London in order to liberate Sudan. Once Ethiopia gains enough territory in the nation they are attempting to liberate, they will have the option to request a peace deal with the colonial power. With bigger enemies to deal with closer to home, they’re likely going to cut their losses.​

Alright, the game's worst mechanics are actively fighting me to the point where it's not fun anymore, so I'm gonna call it:

The recently founded Armenian Empire was never going extend too far beyond the de jure borders that I set for it. I could have included the Kingdom of Palestine but I thought that would make for an ugly de jure border protrusion. I don't even like how Pontus extrudes as it does, but I couldn't really avoid that, sadly. Given more time with this run, I probably would have settled with taking Mesopotamia and the Arabian peninsula. I feel like that would have made for a nice and reasonable Armenian Empire without going too crazy.

Also, I turned my peoples into the greatest church builders that have ever existed and ever will exist. That's Aniconism (Apostolic religious tenet) + Fervent Temple Builders (original Armenian cultural tradition) + Religious Patronage (added cultural tradition). And those temples can get even cheaper if you have the right traits. It's crazy powerful and I advise not making the same I was doing throughout the run, you need to land your dynasty EVERYWHERE in order to make the best out of it, the rewards go to the dynasty of the county holder.

And in spite of being wearing frustrated with the game lately, I'm not done yet (because I hate myself), I have an idea for an ultra fun run. It'll be better to share it when I've done it, but I do wanna mention that it's going to hilarious. Don't worry, nothing to do with RPing nudity this time, but I feel like it's gonna be on that level of ridiculous.

I had to doublecheck that Paradox didn't have some sort of hand in the production or publication of the later Tropico games, because I could have sworn I remember them doing something with it, but I guess it was a false memory.

I could never get into Tropico 5, because I'd gotten very used to Tropico 4 and find 5 to be very restrictive and less granular in comparison. Honestly, I wish they would have made all the cool new features of 5 and 6 into expansions for 4.

I'm playing as Ming, I'm the 1st world power and outdevelope every other nation by a long shot, I have the best trade, best production, and am the economic hegemon. I produce the most coal on the world and am more industrialized than any other country

Yet not a single institution spawns within my land. Not a single fucking one. All spawn in Europe minus industrialization which decided to spawn in fucking Azerbaijan.

Shit like this honestly makes me want to stop playing. I know it's not that big of a deal on the long run but it really breaks the immersion of my game when the greatest superpower of the world that leads everyone in tech, trade, and production, can somehow not manage to come up with literally anything on its own

I've never really gotten the hang of 4. I've been playing 5 and I understand it pretty well but it does seem simpler than 4.

I like how my plans for my current CK3 run started so simple. Minor spoilers, there was such a simple theme that I wanted to play off of, with a rather unique culture, and now it's gotten SO CURSED. I actually can't wait to share it when my society-building is finished, this is already one of the most fun CK playthroughs I've had in a long time.

CK games that are supposed to be simple are the ones that end up going duck tits insane, like mine that was supposed to only be Lombards --> Italy that ended with Arab-Irish Spain, the near-complete eradication of Islam, and the dual kingdom of Hungary-Jerusalem.
