Finally got to click the button I've been waiting for, I wanted to click it with the last character but he kicked it just before he could make it. The de jure borders of the newly formed Charybdis empire. I took kingdoms from most of the existing empires in the Med. I generally like to make de jure splits as reasonable as possible so I don't entirely gut them, but my plans for Mediterranean dominion meant that Italia had to get it the worst.

And now all that's left is to form a new religion. I want to decisively make it based on Orthodoxy, but my plans of playing nice have changed. I want more room to RP the individual tenets, so I'm going to create a full on heresy and Mend the Schism with it. I'm going to making myself a massive crusade target, but I hope it doesn't matter considering how strong my men-at-arms are getting.

The description for religions has a character limit that has genuinely fucking enraged me. There's so much more nuance to this, but this is the best I can summarize things.

The only other nuance that I tweaked for this religion is making women eligible to be clergy-people. Some biases are being waived away in the face of doom and to the followers Cataclysmicism, it's all hands on deck.

It needs to be said in this thread, and it was last done more than a year ago: Anbennar: A Fantasy Total Conversion Mod for Europa Universalis 4 is really excellent. And unlike other mods I enjoy, such as MEIOU and Taxes, it doesn't run like complete dogshit.

Imagine EU4 but with races from DnD and such, an intricate lore, and creative use of original game mechanics plus some entirely new ones like a ruler magic UI and semi-pop like modifiers on provinces to indicate the presence of different races, each with different boni that also depends on their level of integration (or persecution). I have spent majority of my free-time in these last 2 weeks or so engulfed in it.
