And in the same cluster as me there is a Common Ground Federation, and even though they outnumbered me 3 -1 i had a superior fleet with a higher rate of fire, and have been carving them apart in wars every few years and have surrounded their worlds, with no way for them to escape.

I remember that there are Vikings in Ireland in the 867 bookmark, not necessarily in Dublin though. Or you could make a custom character.

I remember that there are Vikings in Ireland in the 867 bookmark, not necessarily in Dublin though. Or you could make a custom character.

There's Suðreyjar and Jórvik, both in ahistorically large borders, but threre's no Kingdom of Dublin (or even a rough sketch of the various Viking kingdoms all over Ireland). The Viking Kingdom of Dublin actually outlived Jorvik (and Suðreyjar) by like, around a century.

Charlemagne lets you make custom titular titles though. I had some fun with that once while making a royal mess of the British Isles.

Charlemagne lets you make custom titular titles though. I had some fun with that once while making a royal mess of the British Isles.

IIRC you can't do that from the start-game screen, you can only do it after playing for awhile and amassing titles.

Welp I finally did it, took 2 years and alot of dead Spaniards but I finally won the Spanish Civil War as the Anarchists.

Hey, does anyone know how to direct allied armies in Imperator: Rome? As in, are there any buttons similar in vein to the handy 'attach to' mechanic from CK2: Jade Dragon? Also this game is taking a toll on me it seems. Makes me feel really 'deficient in the head department' (a wordy euphemism for dumb). Unlike CK2 where I seem to have a blast turning x culture and y religion into z big empire, Imperator feels like a game where real success can only be achieved playing as one of the big-name Hellenics (and Carthage!) that line the Mediterranean. Tried a couple of campaigns as various nations, from Black Sea Greek minors to Getia and Auscia, two settled tribes. The first was utterly destroyed by an expanding Rome, and the latter got coalition'd by a bunch of its tribal peers into subission. I did manage to form Aquitania as Auscia and turn that into a republic (a republic of pre Indo-European peoples) first, but it was of no use. A civil war had left me starved for troops, and while manpower was not a problem, the manpower recovery rate was. The time it takes to regrow your manpower and reinforce your ranks seems absurd. This doesn't work like HOI4 where one click to change a conscription law and now hundreds of thousands of young adult men are ripe for the battlefield. And the same thing appears to be true for army morale. If a battle is lost, an army can be expected to be dead weight for quite a while, as morale seems to take center stage in battle calculation, as opposed to the almost brain-dead mass assault I'd pull on Islamic caliphates and Christian fiefdoms as Christian lords and viking chiefs respectively. And while Light Infantry is something I never touch in CK2, suggesting a vague notion of strategy, by the time I get the ball rolling in CK2, I just default to spamming barracks+whatever cultural retinue I have access to, and doomstacking myself a twenty, thirty thousand strong army. I'm also doing this in Imperator, mostly because the countries I play as can support abysmal troop counts, as opposed to the multiple 40k stacks Rome pulled on me as Getia. And that Rome only held Italy and parts of what we now call Former Yugoslavia. The fact that I seem to be so piss-poor bad at this game is really making me feel a bit terrible.
