So... The pope was going to crusade against some random ass duchy in Italy that fell to heresy. After 3 successful crusades, I figured we could do something interesting...

And so the great crusade for guinea began. 120,000 men sailed from their safe cottages in Europe, to the sandy beaches of Morocco, crossing the Saharan into the heart of West Africa. To fight in the strange jungles along it's coast. Its hard to say how much men were truly lost in the march, but their efforts were not in vain. They beat down on their Muslim rivals and carved out a kingdom deep in Africa's heart.

For the great crusader kingdom of Guinea is proof of their efforts. The pope proud of my efforts, obviously gave my relative the kingdom. Without hesitation, I switched over to my kinsman leaving behind the cold tundras of Sweden. Now all that needs to be done is to crusade and unite all of African under the rule of the Crusader Swede.

In the end, the majority gravitated to the easy Chinese option in the poll. I still don't entirely understand the wannabe Siberians, but third place goes to classic Khazaria.

Gonna move on to India, where I changed things up a bit considering the truly ridiculous amount of diversity that can be found there. This time you can choose who/where you want to live and how to live.

I believe that is enough justification for my choice in the poll.

Northwestern India because it is the most strategic location for expanding either into Persia or further into India based on the diplomatic situation, or in a pinch, into southern Arabia. Southern India may find itself boxed in if their neighbor to the north is too swoll. Same for northeastern India/Burma.

Hinduism, because of the 7 holy sites. Form a heresy, profit. This also allows me to focus expansion west into persia and arabia while marrying into and allying the rest of India in between occasional bouts of subjugation wars.

As a Hindu in the northwest, there are raiding opportunities only present for Pagans if another location is chosen.

Finally got HOI4 mods to work on the new setup. Tried to survive as China but got so bored because Japan refused to invade from the sea and a full year into the war they had over 1 million casualties while I had less than 100k. It was embarrassing considering I screwed up my resources and couldn't counter attack.

They do but their tech is worse than yours and they are probably a couple of techs behind

They do but their tech is worse than yours and they are probably a couple of techs behind

And it can take them quite a while to catch up as well i imagine even if they begin westernizing.

Is Westernizing still a thing in EU4? Ive not played the game in a few years.

In EU4 high morale, low discipline unit probably easy to imagine as some sort of unhinged mob of berserkers (as anachronistic as that example that might be).
But what sort of unit would have low morale, but high discipline, assuming there was one? Like some sort of parade troop that could manage to get single perfect volley and then they would break?
