The only paradox game you should be able to actively commit genocide in is Stellaris imo

Because you know thats on fish people and mushrooms and not real people who suffered genocide in history. And i always get really odd vibes from a lot of the people who want the option to carry out genocide in historical based games.

I hate the mechanic everywhere it's in. EUIV is just low hanging fruit for my seeing as its my least favorite PDX game.

It's in part because in CK2/3 you have the historical example of, say, England to have a guess how "cultural conversion" is meant to look like, while in EU4 you have "expel minorities" which means it's... not even just "they started talking in our language and acting as we do". I mean the former is still horrible from any standpoint but the latter might as well be genocide and/or ethnic cleansing.

One that I was thinking about CK3 era, is that should religion have the "proselytizer/non-proselytizer" tenent where at X year intervals religions with proselytizer tenent would make contested fervor check (or something like that) to represent grassroots spread of certain religions. So it wouldn't be all top-down spread currently shown.
Although I'm not sure if that'd be possible or not or should even proselytizer religions do same with other proselytizer religions.

I was thinking EU time frame things were getting established enough that this probably wouldn't be thing, but then I remember colonizers did bring missionaries with them.

I think the UNE always spawns if you are the Commonwealth. Though saying that ive never actually played as them i think.

the UNE always spawns if you play as the CWM. always. unless you're playing a custom CWM, which i'm not.
