I think I'm done with this run. It's September 11th, 1950, and the vast majority of the world is run by communist governments — united under Germany's guidance in the Fourth International.

Very few non-aligned states remain in the Old World.

Ireland and Thailand escaped communism (for now); every other state is either a puppet or ally of mine, or a puppet of the United States - the only exception being Japan.
I did not really get the chance to destroy the United States in their homeland. My plan was to turn my nuclear weapons on them immediately after we vanquished Japan together, but the Japanese War took almost a decade and thoroughly drained my nuclear capacity. And we didn't even get to annex them. Then the Chinese Civil War occupied by land forces for another several years, and I've decided to call it quits rather than enter another decade-long war.
Because of that, the New World is mostly free...for now. Canada is a socialist puppet state of France, and Cuba is a communist state in a non-aggression pact with me but not formally aligned with the Fourth International.

lmao, I have the exact opposite problem. My federation has something like 11 members and spans most of the galaxy (size large), and I made the mistake of making it "majority vote" for most decisions back when it was just three empires. Now I've completely lost control of the federation, and am constantly getting dragged into stupid situations courtesy of my federation voting to go to war every 10 years.

I went with the common ground origin, so I've had two friendos from the start. No one else has joined our federation, per se. We've picked up some vassals that have since been integrated.

Finally got the Galactic Council formed, and none too soon because the Great Khan has emerged. As a responsible member of the Council I immediately called an emergency session of the Senate to vote on making the defeat of the Khan the galactic focus. And while the galaxy focuses on that, I'll carry on taking chunks out of my neighbours. I think I need a bit over double my current diplomatic weight before I'll be able to dictate laws to the Galactic Community, but there's a good chance I'll be able to get the Council down to two members and get veto powers before then.

The more I think about it, the more I think that it wasn't my own fault. And it wasn't the game's either. It was the mod maker's. That entire solar system has been fucky ever since I found it.

Somehow the supposedly primitive civilization that spawned there (or event-generated?) deleted itself and a new one took its place. And I eventually integrated that successor. That capital world was the most offensive planet I've ever seen, a size 13 relic world, the usual tile blockers all in place, and somehow filled to the brim with nothing but police buildings and an unrelenting horde of unemployed people.

I tried to fix it. I really did. But then my brain died and I couldn't process it anymore.
