There comes a time in every EU4 game I play that I wonder why armies of allies are literally always skull-fucked morons who scatter like cockroaches the moment a war is declared, but then I remember that it's intentional, because if allies had the remotest bit of competence, the game would be way too easy.

What kind of character should I play first?

I would say play King Murchad of Munster. He is the tutorial character and will do a good job at introducing you to the basics.

Do i punish myself with trying for the "Ships dont lie" achievement in hoi4 again? Like i want Shakira to save me with her magical armada of doom but the game really fucking cucked me last time when it broke after a certain date regardless of what i did.

I think i got like 4-5 of em built that run and then game just said "Nah fuck you im gona crash"

Closest i ever came to getting it and that involving me having to fight German tank divisions in the mountains of peru because for some reason the Allies couldnt stop their unguarded transports.

I noticed some difficulty with the launcher trying to launch HOI4 earlier to the point i had to shut it down and try launching it again. So im thinking there might be issues in general with the paradox launcher.

It's a really, really bad app. You need a degree in demonology to get it to work without problems and I'm surprised you were able to download the game on your first try.

If it's just CK3, though, then there's plenty of games on GP to try out that you otherwise wouldn't.

I have verified the files, reinstalled the game, cleared my mod folders, unsubbed to a lot of dead mods, and like 2 other things. The launcher is haunted it refuses to work Paradox gave me the finger just because i never had issues with the old launchers.

HOI4 is absolutely convinced i had mods installed even though they are all disabled and wont let me get achievements in ironman.

Guess its a full reinstall then.

Well, it's been a while since the last time I played EU4 so I think imma get back into it

I'm thinking of doing either two campaigns:

1. England into Great Britain, colonizing game
2. HRE German minor playing tall, maybe become Emperor if the oppertunity arises. Will probably play one that can create a formable nation.

My laptop runs slow on higher graphics but I'm genuinely liking it so far.
