It's time for us to create a religion, Paradox threadpeople. It's time to declare what we truly believe in. This is the most ambitious poll design I've ever created, it's going to be a series, each segment probably lasting a week and we're going to build something great.

Going to seriously need your help on how I should address Tenets, I have no bloody clue how to break those down, I need your suggestions on how to handle them when the time comes.

And don't be weird and screw this thing up, vote once for each subcategory, please.

Gonna start poking around in both start dates to find interesting religions and/or components thereof, and I will update this thread with my findings.
Update: You don't need a province to convert, and Haesteinn can freely invade the Christian world because it doesn't pull in enemy co-religionists...REJOICE

I’ve never once played CK2, as a mainly EU4 player, what are the main differences between CK and EU games, and how long does it take to learn CK3?

Going to second this. The game still feels very barren. If you play on spot on the map you've played pretty much every spot on the map. The only nation's with real charecter to them are Rome and Carthage.

But I assume there will be updates, expansions, and DLCs releasing often based on the constant dev diaries?

ngl I don't really like CK3. Everything just feels... Wrong with how the UI changed. I can't justify to myself the £43 for... Not that great of a change from CK2 for the half an hour I played.

Yeah but wait until that's actually out. Not based on the promise of future content. Plus the price will be lower by then.

I have been milking replayability for CK2 and all its DLCs since 2016. And I plan to play the whole slew from Imperator, EU4 (maybe even EU3), Vic2, HOI4, and Stellaris. By the time I get to CK3, CK4 might be announced.

And we'll still be waiting for Vicky 3.

I really thought back then that Vicky 3 will come before CK3. Looks like the former truly has a niche audience.

I've only played CK3 for about 1-2 hour(s) now but so far I'm intrigued. It'll take time to get used to all the changes from CKII, but so far I like it.

Just need to figure out how to fabricate claims... I think I skipped that tutorial bit. Oops.

Use your court chaplain. The actually good part is that instead of "35% of this actually working every year", you actually get a rough deadline for this sort of thing too.

Eh I have EU4 and HOI4 to keep me busy 'till Imperator becomes worst it…

As for CK3, what I’m seeing is it’s not that big of an improvement over CK2 with all DLCs so owners of CK2 with all expansions should wait until CK3 has more content

May I ask which region you have played in so far? Europe, of course, is similar, but the Steppe Hordes or the Byzantines are completely void of unique flavor

Primarily CK revolves around your dynasty rather than your nation. If you lose absolutely all of your land it's still game over, but it's entirely possible to end the game ruling an entirely different country/area than the one you started in. On the other hand dying with no heir of your bloodline is game over regardless of how much territory you control.

So there's a lot more emphasis on characters in CK. You have to manage marriages and educating your heirs, you have individual vassals with their own bloodlines that can mess with inheritance, and they can plot against you alone or in groups. And every other country/province has its own characters with their own families/plots/claims

In a sense it's a lot of micro-managing, but in a fun, immersive way. I always find it hard to go from CK to EU because EU just feels so flat by comparison.

Haven't actually picked up CK3 yet, so can't comment on the learning curve. Though it wasn't really too bad in 2.

AtE: FF wouldn't work on my game for a week and I was wondering why. I forgot I backrolled to play Elder Kings and never changed it back. That would also explain why great works didn't spawn in the game I did start playing instead.

Imo I was going to buy CK3 the second they announced cadet branches being implemented, that alone is a huge improvement over CK2's dynastic systems.

Classic Crusader Kings shenanigans honestly. I would be sad if I couldn't do that.

I haven't gotten to play today thanks to work and other stupid real world obligations. I only just got home an hour ago and decided to just play a bit before I go to bed. I accidentally got into an affair with my sons wife, was invaded by all three neighbouring kingdoms, witnessed my son dying in battle which caused me to fall into a such a terrible depression that I got drunk and drowned in a bog. Then I lost the war as a 2 month old toddler and got a game over.

I'm glad to report CK3 is still good ole' Crusader Kings.

Alright. Time to sit down and really start a game. I'm irl at stress level one right now. Think I'm just going to start as non-tutorial Murchad, I really hope the Scots and English don't look in my direction.
