EUV is going to be taking some lessons from its sister games. Iirc, city-building is from I:R, control from CK3, and maritime presence sounds like it's going to be inspired by Victoria 3.

And with how small EUV's provinces seem to be... It does add up.

Not only are more ascension paths than ever before in The Machine Age, there's also going to be a civic that's defines itself by disallowing ALL of those paths. And I find that very funny. And even though it surely hurts massively to take that choice, the way the civic is setup is totally justified and a great addition roleplay-wise.

Really looking forward to playing as a subject nation in Victoria 3. Looks like a lot of fun. Will probably choose Canada or Australia when the DLC comes out.

I've always felt that Paradox's handling of defining cultures and culture groups, especially for those in the New World, is really awkward and unsatisfying. I get that it will always have to be arbitrary to a certain degree, but it's still one of my pet peeves. One of the only decisions they've made regarding cultures that I wholeheartedly agree with was removing Texan as a separate culture in Vic3 from Vic2.
