the... zroni? i've played stellaris for years and i've never got them. i've gotten the cybrex, baol, yuht, first league, irassians, and vultaums, but never the zroni.

As a person who chronically re-rolls starts (I have a serious problem), I can definitely attest that the Zroni are more unusually rare than any of the others.

Im really unsure how to continue on as Ethiopia after beating Italy. Your industry is barely existent, it takes forever to get shit built and my army wouldnt last five seconds against the British if i try and attack them for their colonies. Like... what am i feasibly supposed to do lol

Apparently they actually made Aussa fun in BBA. I'd be suprised, has anyone tried to play it?

i thought your precursor was based on where you start in the galaxy? like how if you start in the southeast you'll get the yuht, if you start in the northwest you'll get the first league or the irassians, if you start in the southwest you'll get the cybrex, &c.

it's definitely a country, alright. if you can survive the italo-ethiopian war while fighting italy you can get some absolutely insane buffs. you start off with -10% supply consumption and bonuses in hot climates + deserts, and through the focus tree (shared with other ethiopian splinters with minor differences) you can get +10% factory output, +10% division attack (15% on core territory), +5% division defense (15% on core territory), 35% recruitable pop, +15% irregular infantry attack, +10% irregular infantry defense, +5% irregular infantry speed, +10% irregular infantry organization, free tanks, free oil, +55% construction speed, +40% factories in states, 550 PP, and the ability to form the horn of africa to get cores on ethopia, eritrea, somalia, djibouti, and somaliland.

alex the rambler did a video on aussa a few days ago but it's definitely going to get some coverage from more people coming up.

That used to be the case but I believe they made it more dynamic so the regions aren't the same every time iirc.

Okay on the one hand I'm totally being called out here:

Also one final thing; a lot of you are asking for a Byzantine Flavor Pack, but I know for a fact that the scope of a Flavor Pack wouldn’t sate your ravenous hunger for East Roman content… when we eventually get to them, it’d more than likely be as the part of a Major Expansion!

But on the other hand: FUCKING HYPE

Also:

I think it’s quite obvious that I eventually want to Expand the Map, to include the rest of the Old World. If we’d do it all at once or in segments is still up in the air, but regardless of what approach we take, it’s imperative that the area feels different to play in from the western half. While it’s obvious that the area would require a lot of unique art, I’d also want it to work differently from a mechanical standpoint - governments, faiths, etc. It’s an ambitious goal, but one I wish to tackle eventually.

China expansion confirmed.

I haven't actually tried it but I don't see how it's worse than the old one. The old one had AIs do bordergore, this one also has the same.

Well, for one, now you can puppet a nation, change their government, and leave them alone to have 3 of any nation (or more if you have multiple participants), which is awful. Also (if I am correct) there is no way to give land to your puppets, which is lame.
It's the same thing but worse.

1. I like that, actually. It simulates how countries were divided after ww2 without needing to make releasables, which allows for a post war division of Spain isntsd of Germany in some wacky alternate history.
2. That's a shame. But I'm sure some mod like playerled peace conferences could fix that.

Switzerland has four officers it can pick for its military high command

Two of them are naval officers, one of them is an army officer

Switzerland starts with no coast due to it being a fucking mountain country

Logic

I mean conquering Vichy France as a Fascist Switzerland is easy as fuck so you can get access to some naval factories and their ships (if you remember to take them in the peace deal that is, which i didnt) so it can make sense. But two of them is just silly.

Italy is also probably easy to invade depending on who they are fighting as well.

But that actually makes sense though.
Horthy was an admiral when Austria Hungary existed, which had a coast, and forming Austria Hungary is one Hungary’s focus tree paths in HOI4. They don’t start with an admiral though.
Switzerland starting with admirals doesn’t make much sense as they’ve never had any coasts.
