Goddammit, I was just about to post due to the urge to be the 10,000th.
Well, I'm the 10,000th reply at least. But not the 10,000th post.

So I love the devs and all, they do great work, but by god, I think I'm finally on the verge of snapping and joining the "gamer" side of things. The corporate wing of Paradox is really putting in the effort to make me start to regret ever being a fan of the company. This should not be a fucking DLC.

The power move is to never become a fan of companies at all.

I don't think I've made it much of a secret that I have a snide opinion of people who are anti-corporate for the sake of anti-corporatism. People go very far out of their way to bitch about developers and their companies without ever sparing a single thought about their perspective.
When you've got me joining the mob, you know you've fucked up. I stand by my support of companies in general.

Thinking about the corporation's perspective is an exercise in futility though, the mentality is always "how can we make the most money with the least amount of work?" And, well, the current Paradox business model is pretty much one way to make the most money without actually putting any work in. Hell, they even get us to pay them to become their beta testers.

HOI3 has sliders that can change your ideology iirc but usually only very slightly and only every now and then.
