It was just a nickname for Chelyabinsk. It's not a real city, unfortunately.

Indeed. As Chelyabinsk produced something like 18000 tanks during ww2 for the Red Army and a fuck ton of ammunition. A nickname very much deserved.

Chelyabinsk isn’t real you say? That meteor must of done a lot more damage then I thought.

It's genius, I tell you. Obviously you drink the antidote in advance just in case they somehow screw up their job, but who'd suspect a thing?

I don't know what it is about CK2 that makes me have a love-hate relationship with it.

On the one hand, I absolutely abhor the base game. It's my least favorite Paradox game (that I've played); the UI is ugly, the gameplay is boring and uninteresting, the timeline is a slog, and it plays more like a glorified RPG than a GSG.

On the other hand, I can't get enough of playing fantasy mods for it. Elder Kings comes to mind first and foremost, but there's also a Fire Emblem mod (that's sadly unfinished) that I've recently installed as well as the ATLA mod. I love playing these, but hate the actual base game itself. Is anyone else like this with any other games?

Honestly I think if Paradox advertised CK as an RPG instead of a grand strategy game things would be better, because it is just that. Its as RPG centered around on the most important time periods in Western History. The end of antiquity, the rise of Islam and Chirstanity strengthening its hold on Europe, the clash of these two faiths setting up conflicts thousands of years into the future. The rise of empires that would live on well into the modern era and whos influence can be still felt. Honestly the time line of CK2 and 3 covers some of the most interesting parts of history.

I could learn how to operate a nuclear reactor before I learn how to play CK2 or 3. Actually, said reactor is probably more intuitive and less complicated.

The Elder Council is making it into Victoria 2. Wonder how viable it would be for recognized nations to support that government structure.

I’m starting to love Stellaris because the callous cruelty you can commit affects billions of people at a time. I’ve kept a billion people living in abject poverty even when I had the resources to easily lift them out of it because I didn’t feel it was economically viable to do so and more importantly, I didn’t really feel like it.
