EU3 and HOI3 were great though.

I do not know much about EUIII. I thought HOIIII and CIVIII sucked, but I guess some of these things are just matters of personal preference.

HOI3 was great! You made a great big battle plan that failed miserably then you spent the Winter of 43 airlifting potatoes to your starving soldiers still holding Minsk 2 years after the German invasion! Everything was fun!

I would love to buy and play HoI3 in theory, but I didn't go to West Point so all I'd do is fail miserably.

My favourite memory of HOI3 was deleting all HQ brigades as the USSR, throwing every division into Moscow and spending half an hour reorganising them into corps, armies and army groups of equal numbers, size and specialisation and making new HQ brigades.

Saving the motherland aint always glamorous.

HOI3 isn't that bad. It's complex, but once you learn how to play it, it's actually pretty fun. I don't play it very often but when I do, it's a lot of fun to play the USSR.

HOI3 is fun but it definitely takes some powering through to get into. Even if you're already familiar with it, just starting another save can be way more daunting than something like CK2 or Vic2.

They were in my dejure kingdom and were duchies where as I was a king.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

And they sought independence rather than just becoming your vassals? Huh. That's never happened to me before.

I only got 103.

But I have a poor memory and was drawing a serious blank so it's probably less than the cities I know. I recognized most of the cities from both of your lists, I just couldn't for the life of me remember them for some reason.

I broke down and had to look up how to spell Iceland's capital. I realize that's probably cheating, but whatever.
