Option 1: Swear fealty to one and tear them apart from the inside.
Option 2: Marry their daughters so you get non-aggression pacts
Option 3: Be very quiet and hope they don't notice you
Option 4: Get gud

1 is off the table because we're technically the same rank (somehow neither of those big bois are actually empires, most likely because the de jure Empire of Eran is divided between them).
2 is out of the question because they're both Muslim and I'm Jain.

So I guess I have to stick with 3 for now and pray that if they do target me I can rely on 4.

Suck up to china and pray to god that you can pool up that sweet sweet asian mana for an invasion.

Is that in a DLC? China isn't in my game.

Newer mind than. TLDR there is a DLC that introduces China as a semi lame off map power that you can interact with if you are really close to the eastern edge of the map. It all basically boils down to courting them with the occasional tribute of some sort in exchange for a special currency that you can spend on favors. And one of the things you can do is ask them to invade someone for you and just basically demolish them with a Mongol sized doom stack invasion.

Its incredibly handy if successful. Bit annoying sometimes tho, when i used it in my India game the armies it spawned sat at the edge of the map for like 2 years before they finally moved. They got to like -56% warscore before they moved one county. They won tho so was worth it in the end.

Interesting.

You can get things like a special Chinese councillor, an imperial marriage with the ruling dynasty (usually a decent princess and you get access to a special regiment you can spawn. And some other things too. It also has a military force present on the map which invades nearby realms to make them tributaries.

And you can install your own dynasty to the throne, something I've never done before.

Last time I checked they were event troops that spawn only when they intend to invade.

It's definitively one of those overpriced DLC's that you only get when you are utterly bored from playing too much of the base game.

I'm done dicking around with random stuff in CKII for a while. It gets boring trying out all these weird ideas and concepts I come up with. Instead, I'm going to go through the wiki's list of "Interesting Characters" and see what I can do with these guys.

First up is Count Hugues de Lusignan, a particularly unsavory lad who fought and died in the Crusades.

I think I said it about the last patch, but I'll reiterate it more forcefully this time: Imperator is in a GOOD state. If there were any remnants that remained that people disliked, I'm pretty sure this patch finally sweeps them away. Here are the patch notes. Imperator: Rome formally releases 1.0 tomorrow, bois.
