Went with the "standard" loadout i guess, of the battlecannon, a lascannon up front and two heavy bolters. Man they give you a lot of guns to pick from with this thing. Did run out of Chaos Black Spray tho so ill need to grab another can before i can spray it, i have white and grey sprays as well so guess i could use one of them in place of black.
You need magnets Husk.

Maybe for the next tank as this one is all glued together

Also started on one of my shocktrooper squads today, got a bunch of the base colours done, early days but they dont look too bad so far, just need to tidy them up with some black and silver then move onto the shading process and layering.

I have had yet another idea for a new army, this time Chaos Space Marines. The basic premise is a Space Marine who loves to fight and is extremely egotistical - to the point that my idea was I would pick out two head options for him (one angry and the other handsome and smug), buy a lot of them on Ebay, and put them on the shoulderpads of the other Marines - he is so narcissistic that his face is his warband's badge.
In terms of structure, I thought it would be fun to go primarily with Khorne Berserkers and Noise Marines, with the idea being that both Khorne and Slaanesh want this guy and have sent followers to try to sway him to their side. Then maybe a squad of Marines or Terminators whose primary job is to carry his trophies for him.
I could paint a Slaanesh symbol on the handsome head and a Khorne symbol on the angry head, then magnetise them so that they can be swapped and create two almost identical army lists, with the only difference being which chaos mark he has...

Wow. Those are amazingly ugly. I love them!

Though, I do not think I could realistically afford 50+ of them.

So making progress on the first set of cadian shocktroops and my hand is not the most steady but aint looking too bad so far, got most of the initial base paints done, need to touch up the faces again and neaten up some of the black areas before doing some shading and layering. Too late to do it with the second squad but i think with any future minis i might paint each part of the mini separately as getting at the chests can be a bit difficult, then glue them together.

Or atleast leave the arms off and do those separately.

If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. These look as if they were "painted" by dunking them into paint pots and leaving them there for a week or so.

But thinning your paints might result in you having to apply several layers in order to get a good result, and who has the time for that?

Having done this to some of my first space crusade minis I can confirm that only one of those minis gets close to that level of horror.
Also how did anyone get pics of my minis...

I have been inspired to come up with yet another idea for a new army, this time Tau pirates - the Rah'ray fleet. The basic premise is a fleet of Tau who were cut off from the Empire by the Cicatrix Maledictum, and who thus had to start raiding in order to keep themselves supplied. It lends itself to interesting questions about how well the ideology of the Greater Good would hold up in such situations, and how a single Ethereal would maintain order alone for such a long time. I also considered the idea of having that when the Warp Storm broke it fused their ships with an empty Space Hulk they were investigating, as the thought of Tau with a Space Hulk sounds entertaining. The colour scheme would be primarily black, with bone details and plenty of wear and tear. I would give the Ethereal a fancy hat and brace of pistols.

These are the experimental lists:

Ethereal (Aun'shi)
Cadre Fireblade

5 Breachers with Shas'ui (Markerlight), Pulse Pistols and Guardian Drone
5 Breachers with Shas'ui (Markerlight) and Pulse Pistols
16 Kroot Carnivores

Devilfish with Seeker Missile

3 XV8 Crisis Battlesuits including Shas'vre, each with 2 Flamers and an Advanced Targeting System, along with 2 Shield Drones

Ethereal (Aun'shi)
Commander in XV85 Battlesuit with 3 Fusion Blasters, a Shield Generator, a Gun Drone and a Shield Drone OR Commander in XV86 Colsdstar Battlesuit with 4 Fusion Blasters
Cadre Fireblade

5 Breachers with Shas'ui (Markerlight), Pulse Pistols and Guardian Drone
5 Breachers with Shas'ui (Markerlight), Pulse Pistols and Marker Drone
5 Breachers with Shas'ui, Pulse Pistols and Guardian Drone
5 Breachers with Shas'ui (Markerlight) and Pulse Pistols
16 Kroot Carnivores
10-strong Strike Squad with Shas'ui and Marker Drone

2 Devilfish

3 XV8 Crisis Battlesuits including Shas'vre, each with 2 Flamers and an Advanced Targeting System, along with 2 Shield Drones
6 XV25 Stealth Battlesuits including Shas'vre with Fusion Blaster and Drone Controller, all equipped with Velocity Trackers, plus a Homing Beacon and 2 Marker Drones.
XV95 Ghostkeel Battlesuit with Cyclic Ion Raker, 2 Burst Cannons, Advanced Targeting System, Shield Generator and 2 MV5 Stealth Drones

5 Pathfinders with Shas'ui and Marker Drone
5 Pathfinders with Shas'ui and Marker Drone
5 Vespid Stingwings with Strain Leader

Hammerhead Gunship with Ion Cannon
Hammerhead Gunship with Railgun
Sky Ray Gunship

Sun Shark Bomber with 2 Missile Pods

The basic idea is a highly mobile raiding force. I have never used Tau before despite collecting for almost two decades now, and they seem really complicated, so this list may well be garbage.
It would come to £542.50 without even factoring in paints, codex and case, so I am cautious about making any commitment.

Apparently, Iron Hand smashfucker lists are completely wiping the floor in the current meta.

Makes you wonder where all this sudden GW love for a first founder that was almost completely for the past 7 editions - and portrayed as unsympathetic fascist assholes who usually gets their asses kicked, the few times they showed up in fluff - is coming from.

Is he back then? Last I heard he had not translated well into 8th edition and had been replaced by the Custodes Shield-Captain.
