Good point. Forget the Novamarines. How about the Brazen Claws?

Oh yeah, the Gue'vesa. They're the big gimmick in my own army funnily enough, I love running those little heretics. Hang on, let me grab a picture of them somewh- oh hi inquisitor- BLAM.

In all honesty though my own uniqueness being diminished aside, I'd love to see a Gue'vesa kit. Not to mention that the Vespid and Kroot kits could do very well with updates both to the models and their rules. Demiurg would be an awesome addition to their run too, and could allow the Tau something to at least try to deny witches with. The whole multi-racial aspect really hasn't been given much attention recently and that's really sad.

Also hells to the yes to that new Shadowsun.

I remember that GW posted some interesting Gue'vesa conversions when they published the original rules on their really old website. Even it was just Cadian Shock Troops with a few Fire Warrior chests and shoulders thrown in and everyone having Pulse Rifles.

Also my Cosplay muse latched onto both that Gue'vesa art, and the Farseer from DoW2.

In response to all of the above but not wanting to fill up space with quotes:

I went the opposite route on one of my old armies - it turns out that Necron Scarabs fit perfectly in place of the backpack on Fire Warriors and the old metal Stealth Suits, so I had Necrons with Tau slaves (when the Mindshackle Scarabs item was introduced it became even better). Sadly I only have a couple of models left from that army.

Leman Russ is an armoured car though. I mean if the Baneblade is a Scout Tank than the Russ is probably just one step up from power armour.

I messed up my first tank a bit, but I eventually got the hang of it. The tracks are easy as long as you pay attention to the order (unless working with a Baneblade chassis), and the instructions are quite straightforward. Avoid using too much glue however - there is a temptation to get sloppy given the size of the model, and while in some areas of the model that is alright, in others it can deform the plastic, damage details or, as on one occasion for me, result in a large thumbprint imprinted on the exterior of the model that showed through the paint.

Ahhhh soo many tonks. I went a bit overboard with glue on the landspeader i put together the other month, tho that thing was a fidgety bastard, the leman russ looks lot simpler to put together.

Sure, the vespids looks good, but there's little in the way of unique options to configure them. A bit of variation in their poses would go a long way.

The trick is to have them lean forwards in my experience- make it look like they are really sprinting and the model is just the soldier caught mid stride. That leg on the left(?)[not with them rn so can't check for sure] has a bit more flat on the ground when you do so.

And also to break the rule about too much glue. Use lots of it.

But yeah, otherwise they really are a nightmare to glue together properly. Good luck!

Downloaded DoW III and played the campaign but got bored and quit after mission 5. While the graphics and VA are nice, (my fav character is that comically arrogant and full-of-himself Eldar Lord who I assume will also become a villain in the Eldar campaign) I found the game to be really badly designed.

For starters, the fact that you play every new mission with a different race is just bad pacing. It's bad for immersion, and you have to spent the first 20 minutes or so with familiarizing yourself with how the race mechanics works, what units and building they have again.

Secondly, the game seems to want to mix the mass RTS nature of DoW I with the gimmicky micro-management of DoW II while not being good at either. Most of the time, there is simply too much going on in the game to figure out which units you are supposed to attack which enemies with, and which of their special abilities you should use at which moment. The fact that most units are visually rather small. In the Ork mission where you have to defend yourself against other Ork waves, I just sent my entire horde of close combat and ranged units hectically to wherever the enemies where coming from next and hoped for the best. I assume this is only going to get worse in later and tougher missions.

All in all, I do think that I'd rather be playing Dark Crusade again.

Alright the Leman Russ was actually pretty simple to put together, a few fidgety bits that slid around slightly but other than that not too bad. Went with the "standard" loadout i guess, of the battlecannon, a lascannon up front and two heavy bolters. Man they give you a lot of guns to pick from with this thing. Did run out of Chaos Black Spray tho so ill need to grab another can before i can spray it, i have white and grey sprays as well so guess i could use one of them in place of black.

Just checked out the new SoB preorders... I see Gdubs has continued the trend of fucking people over on heavy weapon options in kits while jacking up their prices. Still only giving you 2 of each weapon so you can't field a full squad with the same weapon without buying 2 boxes... And that price tag!... FFS.
