Yeah I got lucky and found someone selling the STLs for Darktide style lasguns on Etsy and decided I wanted the carbine for my Guard costume.

Sadly the actual paint will need to wait until the weather changes since it's a bit cold to rattlecan things right now.

I've been wanting to get into Warhammer 40k for a while now, especially the tabletop figures and battles and all that, but I don't really even know where to start, how to play, or where to learn. Do you guys have any tips or guidance for this?

Do you have a Games Workshop store near you? They'll often run intro sessions and stuff to help people get into the game(s).

I have no clue, I don't think so. I have friends who are also interested in it but, like me, have no way of actually getting into it

Definitely check local game stores if your nearest GW is that far away. They might gave some 40k game nights you can watch, the employees might also be able to help you out.

Also, check on social media for local gaming groups. I'd also suggest looking at youtube, there are a lot of channels out there with varying lengths of videos that take you through a battle for newbies.

I would recommend two channels in partciular: Play on Tabletop for actual games and Arbiter Ian for lore stuff.

Some good youtube channels for painting as well would be: Midwinter Minis, Mediocre Hobbies, The Painting Phase, and Sonic Sledgehammer Studios for beginner/intermediate painting. Some others which have more advanced stuff would be Miniac, Ninjon, Squidmar and Juan Hildalgo.

Also check out Rogue Hobbies if you want to see something from someone who used to work at GW herself, Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy as well who used to be do a lot of their painting guides online (same with the painting phase, one of the guys on it used to work there too). And these channels will also do a lot of non warhammer stuff as well which might get you interested in other settings or minis as well.

Ive decided to build an Eldar Army for next year. Been thinking about it a lot and was debating whether or not to go Dark Eldar or Craftworld and ive decided to go Craftworld. Im gona try and build my army thematically around Saim Hann, so lots of fast moving units like Bikes and Grav Tanks with some infantry to hold objectives.

I already have an Autarch (bought the new one early this year because i really liked the model but wasnt fussed on my painting on it so gona strip her and do it again) and a unit of Dire Avengers i bought the other week as they were going out of stock in my local store.

Ill most likely pick up the combat patrol box some point early next year and build up the army from there. As the combat patrol box with the autarch and the dire avengers gives me 655/1000 points. So a good chunk of the army already done points wise. And thats also not including enhancements.

I wana go for a more aggressive playstyle as its not something i typically do, i usually kind of hang back and shoot stuff in 40k and slowly move up in AoS. So something more focused on speed and mobility could be a lot of fun.

For the moment I would suggest you don't need to go in deep with the lore - pick an army that you like the look of and that fits the sort of playstyle you are after.

The find a store function on the GW website also lists other game shops that sell GW products that might be closer

The danger is in a particular location... it increases towards a center... the center of danger is here... of a particular size and shape, and below us.
The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours. The danger is to the body, and it can kill. The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.
The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

Finished Blood Pact. It was alright. Immediately jumped over to Salvation's Reach and I'm being thrown for a loop because it's a different narrator.

Why does Ad Astra Games think that WH40K is related to nazism?

Probably because WH40K is related to nazism?

The Empire of Mankind is a fascist/theocratic dictatorship whose style at times apes Nazi imagery and is seeking to cleanse the universe of nonhumans. This is the faction that is often portrayed as the "good guys."

Now this is done on purpose, the entire point of WH40K is that it is the "grim darkness" where no side is supposed to be good. The Empire is not supposed to be good, they are evil and it would be a terrible place to live. This all comes from the underlaying parody of 40K. At times people miss that parody, which I guess is what is going on with Ad Astra Games.

Finished nearly all of my Guard and Age of Sigmar projects this year, so im gona move onto my next big hobby project which will be a new Cities of Sigmar army comprised of the new human models which ill do for armies on parade next year. Got myself some Steelhelms and a Warforger a while back as test models and my folks got me a set of Cavaliers for my birthday so already building a small force out of the new range.

As a side project im also gona build an Eldar Army next year, gona theme it around the craftworld Saim-Hann, so lots of wind riders jetbikes and a few grav tanks supported by either flying heroes or heroes on jetbikes and a few units of infantry to hold objectives. Gona be aggressive and very fast with this army which is a major departure from how i usually play 40k so im looking forward to it.

No idea how well its gona work but fuck it, gives me something new and different to paint. Already got an Autarch model finished and working on some dire avengers at the moment as i would like to eventually get one of each aspect warrior squads to rotate throughout the army.

That certainly complicates matters when you happen to be a loyal servant of the Emperor, but also someone who can appreciate a bit of heretic beefcake.

I've been behind on learning new lore ever since Guilliman came back, most of the stuff i've read involving the Votann Squats is making my head spin. I do find it funny that apparently the Demiurg really were Squats the whole time but the Tau and Imperials couldn't tell by looking at them.
