They did it.

The blackstone fortress style chaos guardsmen are now a killteam.

Those original 7 are gorgeous models- got them on ebay myself- so will likely add these guys too.

EDIT: More detail and a few other releases here. https://www.warhammer-community.com/202 ... ight-here/

Damn. Those are some nice models. I wish I had money. Either way I know so little how to play the actual board game and just lean more in feeding on more lore

I got myself a astra militarum heavy weapons team kit last week as i only ever had one from the start collecting box i got a few years back, i built that one as an autocannon and was thinking of how to build these new ones i got. I was thinking maybe one of each, going for a lascannon, a mortar and a heavy bolter. But i think i might also go for three mortars as being able to fire without line of sight sounds a lot of fun but i know it wont be as effect against tanks and stuff.

Why not all of the different types?

Mortars with 1 guy to drop mortar bombs, heavy bolters with one guy to man gun, and then lascannons and autocannons with overhead cover so all you see is the gun and head. Sure you need to buy extra bases but you can really stretch the heavy weapons teams out.
Fact Book.
Helpful hints on combat vehicle terminology.

I've got a couple of lascannons where I took some grass mat and just laid it over the gun with only the muzzle sticking out. It makes it look like the gunners are digging in and looks cool, plus I can make one heavy weapons kit go a little further.

Yeah ive seen people do that, with like bindings, tufts and sandbags etc to act as cover. I have a bunch of grass tufts, plastic sandbags and some other bits and pieces so i might try that too.

Now here's something you don't see every day, perhaps it is some kind of advanced psychotropic color scheme in order to make the enemy believe the machine is more fragile than it actually is.

My man out here making his models look like plates. I love it.
