Reprinted the KV2 themed turret of the leman russ proxy im printing. Turned out quite well so far and im printing off the guns for it now, going with a demolish cannon and the big plasma cannon as the prints themselves have smaller holes to allow for magnets to be placed.

Then ill slowly work on the hull and tracks and ill post it here when its all fully printed and assembled, probably wont be for a week or longer though. So far this print is not turning out as rough as the chimera i did, not perfect but it looks better bso far ut i guess i wont get a full idea till the whole thing is done.

Post pics my guy

Here are two photos of it bluetacked to one of my GW leman Russ kits to show its scale. The proxy hull and tracks im printing off are both a bit taller and longer so it will look proportionally better on that once its done, but this will give a rough idea of how it will look.

Here are three more photos i have.

Its not completely clean yet, ive still some spare strands of filament to clean off of certain parts (Such as the top of the turret before the hatch, some of the rivets on the side etc) Im still getting used to printing things and used different supports this time as opposed to the Chimera where i used tree like supports so i had a lot more work to do with that vehicle in comparison to this one. I was also not happy with how the two spot lamps on top of the turret looked, they were a tad... melted so i just snipped them off. I have some spare lights from my leman russ and space marine kits that i plan on using.

I was not happy with how the two guns turned out, they were fine looking for the most part but lots of the smaller details like rivets etc were very messy so im reprinting them but positioning the supports differently to try and avoid excess filament wrapping around places and getting caught.

But at the end of the day i dont expect it to look perfect (the printer type i have struggles with really fine details so im not expecting everything to look great, some parts will just look off or bad) and when its all assembled and painted as long as it looks table top ready i wont care and it will help me bulk out a tank force and if i want i can pick up some more official kits down the line to have a mix.

edit: Im currently printing off the front part of the hull then ill do the guns again before the night ends and see how they look.

GW has a gamers survey you can do about warhammer if you wana knock yourself out

They will absolutely listen to it. Its specifically about the game itself i think so i dont know if you can bag on them over other stuff like animations etc.

Even if they ignore it it's a good sign they are at least putting surveys out there.

It is focused only on the play side of 40k, but there is a blank box at the end to share open ended thoughts. So I told them to bring Guard platoons back.

As a question for the thread, what are people's thoughts on current additions rules?

Well ive only played four games at a 500 point level so im not totally familiar with all the rules but they seem straight forward enough from my experience.

There was? I just got kicked to a blank screen when I said I'd stopped playing because I'd not kept up with the rules on account of having no-one to play with.

Yeah, bunch of questions about how you feel about rules and what interests you in playing then final thing was an open ended question of anything else you wanted to say.

Some more leak information regarding the prices for the rumoured upcoming Horus Heresy starter boxes. Well i say rumoured... there were literally photos of them so they are confirmed except final price and release date. And the information in the above video is not confirmed yet so could be subject to change, anyway ill list them below for peoples convenience if they cant watch the video. Kirioth, the youtuber im linking too is a bit sceptical himself about the prices and how hard it would make it for people to get into the Horus Heresy game if they are accurate.

Launch Box Contents:
x40 MKVI Marines
x10 Terminators
x1 Spartan Tank
x1 Contemptor Dreadnought
x1 Castellan
x1 Praetor
Rule Book
Campaign Booklet

Cost: £240

Light Starter Box Contents:
x10 MKVI Marines
Rule Book

Cost: £40

Medium Starter Box Contents:
x20 MKVI Marines
x5 Terminators
x1 Contemptor Dreadnought
x2 Characters

Cost: £100

Large Starter Box Contents:
x30 MKVI Marines
x10 Terminators
x1 Contemptor Dreadnought
x2 Characters

Cost: £180

I would imagine the medium and larger boxes also have rule books like their 9th edition 40k and 3rd edition AoS boxes do.

Might stick with the smaller box for the moment. Mostly because I don't know what legion I want to play anyway.

IIRC they have always done an annual survey.

It used to be in a cut out (or photocopy) in WD and everyone who took part got put in a raffle to win one of every box they made.

of course that was 25 years ago.

I'm trying to make a Chaos KT of Iron Warriors that can proxy as Heresy-era Marines, so maybe I'd go for the light starter box if it was any mark other than Mk. VI.

I love Beakies as much as the next dude, but I decided to go with the one legion that would be the most against that particular mark. Whoops.

Well i would imagine all legions probably had some marines outfitted in the armour but im sure you could do helmet swaps if you have spares. I think Iron Warriors with beakie helmets could look cool personally.

Apparently the Iron Warriors in particular despised the new suit because they wanted the next mark of power armor to be more assault-oriented; Ol' Perty boy and some other Primarchs intentionally let the Raven Guard test it out since they figured an under-strength Legion would end up killing off the Mk. VI project altogether.

Of course, that backfired on them spectacularly, but that just goes to show how much the IW didn't like any suit that couldn't take a beating.

Hype for Praetors as that will let you make A LOT of named characters.
The dreadnought and vehicle are fine.
Terminators are going to be a pain because the sheer variety of terminators in Horus Heresy means you will be spending a lot of money on conversions
