The Iron Hands book series is quite enjoyable. Eye of Medusa was a bit meh, but I enjoyed reading Voice of Mars

You don't need to convince me that the Iron Hands are cool but you have to admit that they're like rarely ever acknowledged.

What would be the forgotten Chaos Legion anyway? Don't make an Alpha Legion joke.

I'd say the Night Lords. They're just kinda...there. Don't really do anything of note.

Nightlords have always been my favourite ever since around WD260ish when they had a few pieces on them across a few months.

You haven't read ADB's Night Lords series?!?! Drop whatever you are reading and go get that series. I think its an omnibus now.

The only 40K book I've actually read fully is a PDF of Xenology.

I'm going to be getting my first models soon. I haven't got the email yet saying that they arrived at the store, but I'm still excited!

Ooooh, exciting! What faction have you got coming? There's nothing quite like you're first model. :)

First Karevka will have to spend a bit of time assembling the miniatures. After that is done, it is a matter of applying primer and waiting for it to dry. Then, and only then, painting the models can be enjoyed.

Well unless he has bought some IG armour in which case its easiest the prime and paint the tracks whilst they are still on the sprue...

Has anyone else ever had any trouble with Corax White going on a model leaving too thin of a coat? I didn't use a base paint, but that wasn't an issue when I used Alaitoc Blue on my Dire Avengers, and they're both layer paints.

I want a planet management game, where you rule over an imperial world over the millennium and build it up to fulfil a certain role (forge world, shrine world etc) and have to deal with various threats as you do as well as balance requests and favours with various imperial factions like space marine chapters, mechanicus etc

I think it would be neat.

I have thought up a concept for a chapter of Primaris Space Marines that I am quite fond of, but that I do not know the best way to realise in terms of miniatures.

They are called the Angels Revenant, and they function on the premise that the fall to Chaos is inevitable, so they specialise in hunting Renegade Space Marines. They also have combined the positions of Chaplain and Captain, and also included in that role is basically the Commissariat as they also purge any within the chapter at risk of falling to Chaos. When they hunt a chapter of Renegade Space Marines, they assume the colours that the chapter abandoned (for example, they would wear the colours of the Astral Claws when hunting the Red Corsairs). Thus, they appear silently as the spectres of the fallen chapter come to claim vengeance for their damnation.

In terms of army composition it is rather straightforward, primarily Intercessors with Stalker Bolt Rifles along with Hellblasters, lots of lovely anti-marine stuff. I am struggling to think of how to approach them visually however. I could pick a renegade chapter and paint them in that chapter's former colours, but then I would not be properly showing off their aesthetic as they would be stuck as that chapter. On the other hand, painting individual squads differently with a united chapter badge might work, but would run into the issue of confusion and it not being realistic for them to have divided up like that.

Any suggestions? Or should they remain a wonderful idea never realised?

Gothic Armada 2 but with ground combat, and a bigger, randomized map.

By the way, I personally think that Ferrus Manus got a little too ahead of himself.

Maybe a generic dark grey scheme with small patches of muted versions of the colours of different renegade bands. Perhaps keep the chapter badge highly visible but model or use one of the pauldron options that could suggest having a cloth for covering the badge.

This is kind of referencing the Heresy Black shields and the recent grey shields/uncounted

What caliber is an Autocannon anyway? I always figured it was ~25-30mm (Bushmaster-ish), but I need to know if they've said somewhere and I'm just missing something.

There's always Chapter Master, it sorta works.
