What can the Empire of Man do against such reckless friendship?

Reckless friendship is more Slaanesh's specialty. Reckless friendship with benefits, obviously. And tentacles.

I have just had a spontaneous but mildly amusing idea for a lore event.
A Chaos Warlord plans to turn Terra into a Daemon World by invading eight planets equidistant from Terra that form a perfect octagon. They deploy 888 heretic Astartes, who each kill 888 people with shells and blades that were each blessed 888 times. Then, the planet is assaulted with 888 orbital bombardment shells. They were successful, but the Chaos Gods were extremely displeased at how precise it all was, without a hint of random chance - of 'chaos'. Thus, they turn all of the heretic Astartes into Spawn or Possessed, though Abaddon intercedes on behalf of the Warlord and instead enslaves him as his quartermaster (even Chaos needs someone to organise their supply lines sometimes).
The eight worlds are still claimed by the Chaos Gods, however, so it is still a loss for the Imperium.

A buddy of mine wrote mlp/40k fanfiction back in the day. It was an AdMech dissection log of Twilight Sparkle that came to the conclusion it was Warp Spawn. I think it should still be around if anyone wants to read it.

The funniest outcome would be the Chaos forces doing all of the above and the result being...absolutely nothing, with the Chaos Gods just shrugging and wondering why the mortals thought this would somehow achieve something.

One of the guys at my first gaming club put pole dancers on his Slaaneshi tanks; they were a pain to pack away but it was worth it for the lolz.

And while I'm on the subject of modded tanks, there was the Doc Ock (Doc Ork?) style burna sponons waving about as the old looted tank rules didn't have an officially specified hardpoint.

There was a daemon summoning scene in the Ravenor trilogy where even the threads in the robes were planned to be woven a certain number of times so that it's heretical to the tiniest detail.

Man, the Ravenor trilogy was so good.

Indeed, and 'Helsreach' makes for a good book to accompany it as they're both about hive cities but with totally different perspectives; one is a detective novel whereas the other is about full-scale war where the destruction of two battle titans is literally just a footnote.

Don't fret, Twilight has a copy of the Codex Astartes. It'll be fine.

Ordered a set of chaos warriors from gw for an experiment i wanted to do with colour schemes and painting armour, and also ordered byself a Saurus Eternity Warden as a birthday present for my best mate.

He has a Seraphon army and i wanted to do a small Seraphon themed diorama for him, and i thought the Eternity Warden looked really cool to paint.

Plan is for the diorama to be the Warden standing on the edge of a pyramid or ruin of some kind, and maybe use some of the extra bits i have left over from my growing daughters of khaine army to have some weapons lingering around, like it was in the aftermath of a DoK - Seraphon battle or something.

Warhammer III: Total War trailer

FAQ page

Seems we are getting six factions at launch: Kislev, Cathay and four chaos factions each focused on the different chaos gods.

Beastman: Finally we got a buff!
CA: Didnt buff Beastman but gives Chaos factions better Beastman units
Skarsnik: Really loud laughs

Basically also confirms Ogres a a future DLC, representing the Central Asian region between Eastern Europe (Kislev) and China (Cathay).

Ogres are honestly who i was looking forward to playing most in Warhammer 3, i dont mind them being a DLC though.

I didnt expect them to do Cathay, so thats really cool.

Cathay is real curveball, that's for sure. Last oriental miniatures Citadel made were in the '80s and neither Cathay or Nippon ever had a real army to my knowledge.

According to this video they are working with the Old World team at GW with designs and bringing both Kislev and Cathay to life in the game. As the Kislev designs in the trailer are very similar to some of the ones GW has shown off before in articles about the Old World.

So im really interested in seeing what they come up with for a full Cathay army.

I'd be very suprised if they actually do (since one of GWs stated reasons for killing fantasy was the difficulty of justifying armies on the opposing sides of the world fighting each other), but I'm intrigued about the possibility for sure. would give all my Oriental heroes minis something to do.

It's the WFB China, but beyond that it's never been properly fleshed out.

Well I know there are some fan made army pdfs on the internet but nothing official.

Hope they include something like Mortal Empires at release to allow all factions to be playable.

Think so. They have gunpowder weaponry and stuff so i wouldnt be surprised if its a more exotic Empire esque faction with a few differences to make it stand out.

One thing i remember reading was they had Ogres serving in their armies too as well as Automatons i think.

A combined map is planned but they have said it wont be at release, but somepoint after launch for free like Mortal Empires is for Warhammer 2.

Huh, so they got a clockwork thing going on?
Always prefer the tech factions over magic in games.

Also good about the gunpowder, my game isn't complete without managing my gun lines.
