It's a nice miniature complete with an atmosphere-enhancing diorama and a good paint job, but why the yellow stripes on the back legs of this delightfully blasphemous cybernetical contraption?

The chevrons were an attempt to thematically tie her in with the Iron Warriors, since the warband she leads is a Khornate force from that legion. I am not too sure about the result though.

Ive got the basic structure of my Diorama done, just need to wait for better weather tomorrow and prime it. Then ill do the painting and weathering effects on the main piece and add in texture paints, the basing materials i got recently and a few bits and pieces to make it look a bit more lively.

One idea i had was to incorporate a dead/dormant necron into it, mainly because i have lots of spare necron weapons and heads from the Indomitus box. Ive cut one corner away and make it look battered and torn to simulate where the building has been blasted away by artillery or something, and i was planning on using stirland mud to create a muddy effect in this part and placing a partially cut down necron gun and head in the mud.

Gives me an opportunity to test out the black and red colour scheme i want to do with the necrons from the indomitus box as a test run.

That sounds good, Necrons always work well in that regard I have found. I used them a lot on the bases of my Ork army.

This is how my diorama is looking at the moment:

Front
Back 1
Back 2

Its mostly done i would say and im quite happy with how it is shaping up so far. The guardsmen ive done is going on at the very end once everything else is finished. The Mud looks watery as i had just put it down and im gona leave it to dry overnight and then see about maybe putting some more on it tomorrow to build up a bit of a layer. Im not gona clutter it too much so im planning on a few extra bits like a rocket and lasgun near the box at the back, and a barrel or two on the right corner to act as some more cover with maybe an extra sandbag or two. And then maybe one or two larger rocks.

Im thinking of adding something onto this wall:

As i think it looks a bit too barren compared to the other one with the ork graffiti and skulls hanging from the top.

And old 90s era Metal Cadian Shocktrooper. Its the last miniature from my brothers old collection he built up when he worked at games workshop like 20 years ago. I found it with some old Kasrkins in a box with only a thin layer of blue paint on it so i cleaned him up and painted him in a modified version of the Cadian 122nd colour scheme, drawing inspiration from this artwork from the City Fight codex cover. Its going to be a christmas present.

Ill post a picture of the guardsmen tomorrow some point.

Found an imperial knight on ebay that was close enough to what I was thinking... hopefully the bid won't get too high and that I win. :p

Looking forward to the giant punching robot.

Yeah.

My guard army's lore is that they are just a nameless PDF trying to stretch the smallest budget to get by. My mental image is that the knight isn't part of a house, it's just some mech suit the planet built and used for civilian purposes until the this current conflict.

The one I'm gunning for on ebay is that's mostly just pure metal paint. It has a few red bits that'll be painted over too, but the main point is that it's a chainsword and big fist for like doing logging work or something. But nonetheless, the civilian operator manning the lumber-knight will serve the emperor!

We had another WFB game day yesterday and I trounced my cousins Empire with my Dark Elves. Since we started again in the spring I've yet to lose a game and I'm kinda wondering whether Khaine's on my side or if my friend's just suck given that I'd consider myself a middling general at most. It's not the army either since we're playing 6th edition (I'm using the errata, but still). I've never had this kind of success in 40k.

Bad news; I didn't win the bid.

Good news: There's always another one. And long as I'm not paying 60 quid for it, it's all good.

Lore news: The mechanicus? Why would they be upset at some civilian industrial cutter? :p

That's a fascinating take, especially since it wouldn't be implausible in actual canon; real Knights already use their mechs for menial labor like logging and quarry work during more peaceful times on their Knight Worlds, so your civilian Knight would actually be something of a return to that tradition.
