It's daemon Angron at that point. For all his wailing about slavery, he became more of a slave at that point than he ever was before...although it wasn't really by choice that he became a daemon, so maybe that's a bit harsh.

Thinking about starting a space marine force. I'm torn between grey knights, deathwatch or blood angels.

Betrayer had so much going for it but was so weirdly structured in the beginning.
They prepare to attack a planet and talk about how they are bound to lose. They attack one city and start losing. Angron falls into a trap and they start losing even more badly. Lorgar goes to help and is caught in the trap as well. Finally Angron breaks free, and charges the enemy who are in an excellent defensive position and are talked up as being guaranteed victory. Then it skips to after the traitors have conquered the entire planet, and treat it as if five minutes have passed.
I actually paused my audiobook to search through the tracks, thinking that I must have missed a few chapters.

Angron is actually quite well spoken and can overcome the Nails more than should be possible. His "honor" and "humanity" were stronger than many give him credit for.

I worked on my dreadnought today, got it mostly done alongside a few primaris marines. Red is a bit patchy so i might touch it up again, even with a shade and highlight still looks a bit off.

But hey i wont expect miracles (same with the highlights i did on the marines), i do see myself largely as a novice mini painter. Ill get better over time.

Which legion is most associated with the Iron Cross (not the Maltese cross)? I distinctly remember a legion or at least a popular chapter having their their main or at least one of their more prominent icons being a large iron cross with a skull

I feel stupid because now I realize I must be thinking of the Veteran emblem and some of the designs from Dawn of War Ultimate Apocalypse.

Talking to a guy who plays Orks. His models are really well painted and assembled. Kinda making me want an Ork army even if Deathskulls are laughed at.

I collect Deathskulls, and they are without a doubt my best-painted army. They are so much fun to work with. I am a bit busy now, but I will edit this later to include a link to the images (which I am fairly certain I have shared here before, but in the old thread).

I have just sent in the order for a demicompany of my Space Mammoths. I have quite the project to look forward to when they arrive, especially as I plan to convert the Captain, Chaplain, Librarian, Ancient and Apothecary.

I decided to repaint the skin on my second hand Dark Elf army. It’s a pretty massive undertaking, and drops the overal quality of the paintjobs some, but I’m loving the results so far. I like the skintone better than the grey (after all, Dark Elves are supposed to be etchincally the same as High Elves and Wood Elves) and it makes the army feel much more mine, if that makes sense.

I wish I had the luxury of having completed my armies to such an extent that I could consider re-painting some of them. As things are now, I will probably never be done with even 50% of my Pile of Shame.

Oh, I have backlog that would likely take literal decades to finish at my painting speed (if I held any pretentions of being able to ever finish it that is). I just decided to cut back on painting mew ones a bit a focus on this one since we’ve started playing wfb again and the DE will be my main army (it being the only one with enough painted minis to play mid or large sized games). I liked the army before this as well (I wouldn’t have bought it otherwise), but it kinda felt like wearing someone elses trousers, you know? Once this project is done they’ll properly be my dudes.

Been considering adding some sisters of battle to ally with my guardsmen. Turn it into a combined arms strike force with everything short of space marines. Thoughts? Good idea?

If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

Im working on some space marine scouts i got from Warhammer conquest (going back and forth from my guard and space marine units to spice it up and not get bored) and i cant find a clear answer on whether or not Crimson Fist space marine scouts have red fists or not. Ive seen some people say yes, some people say no and the same with how they are painted.

edit: according to lexicanum they have red gloves but blue hand guards.
