Turns out James Cleverly, the British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, has Sisters of Battle.

Slowly but surely, we are taking over the British Government.

No offense, but I don't think it is necessarily a good thing when Games Workshop fanboys and -girls rule Britannia with an iron fist and the grim darkness of the far future in their hearts. On the other hand, it might not be worse than the current political situation in the United Kingdom (for a flexible definition of 'united').

Oh, please. They've been talking about that Brexit stuff for like 3 years and still haven't done it. It's basically Texas saying "We'll really secede this time!" but with a British accent.

....

The UK officially left the EU at the beginning of 2020 and ended its transition phase to exit the EU at the beginning of this year.

The UK has left the EU, and brexit has caused a lot of issues so far, such as food and supply shortages in shops in my own home of Northern Ireland due to a lack of preparedness on behalf of the government and businesses (who were basically given no time to prepare by the government). Enflamed Tensions over the border in the Irish sea which keeps NI under EU customs regulations whilst the rest of the UK isnt, and also has caused a bunch of businesses to go under across the UK such as Fisheries who have been completely gutted by brexit and cant sell their catch any more to the markets they typically sold to. There are literally tonnes of articles about this online from a lot of different sources.

A five second google search would have told you this.

So I'm back at the crossroads of what army to build. Because got stuck between the AS army I keep telling myself I need to build if I'm going to make the armour for myself, or between some decision between Thousand Sons, Word Bearers, Alpha Legion and Iron Warriors (because I feel like pulling my hair out over painting hazard stripes).

You could literally have all of those chaos legionnaires be in the same army. Say they are a mixed warband united by one powerful lord.

The fluffiest choice for including all of the above would probably be Black Legion. I don't think any other Chaos Legion canonically accepts deserters from other Legions.

Got my Daughters of Khaine and Chaos space marines primed. Just finished drybrushing the chaos marines and ill begin work on the armour panels and what not soon.

So my current projects for the next few months are:

Daughters of Kahine:

x15 Melusai
x10 Witch Aelves
x1 Mloodwrack Medusa
x1 Hag Queen
x1 Slaughter Queen on Cauldron
x5 Khinerai

(Plus 10 Witch Aelves already done from last year)

Chaos Space Marines:

x10 Chaos Marines
x2 Obliterators
x2 Possessed
x1 Chaos Rhino
x1 Master of Possession

(Plus 10 Marines from a year and a half ago that i finished, and 10 Cultists that i finished a few months back. Then all those damn Plague Marines : /)

Then at some point this year ive got to do that Baneblade and Valkyrie. Though ill need to get a new paint batch in for that. Most of my designated cadian colours are done.

You can have another lord be your leader. And there are a bunch of stories of Chaos lords accepting people from other legions. Lord Arkos of the Alpha Legion, Zulphor of the World Eaters and Honsou of the Iron Warriors all canonically had traitors from other legions fighting for them.

The best options for a mixed army that does not fall into either of the above would be allies of circumstance or a charismatic warlord, both giving ways to tie the army together without removing their individual schemes - for the former, heavy battle damage would let you keep scraps of their old colours while giving them a unifying theme, while the latter could be achieved by giving them a particular feature, such as a shoulder badge. One of my concept armies is a force of World Eaters and Emperor's Children sent by their patrons to vie for the favour of a particularly skilled warlord who is wavering between the two gods. The way I thought I would unify them is with icons of his face as their shoulder badge, serene for the Emperor's Children and angry for the World Eaters, using a Fantasy Elf head for the character and Idoneth Namarti Thrall heads for the badges.

Of course, other likely results would be the persecution of religion, an even greater class division, and war with the Dwarfs. I could see the Elves being a little more open to continued diplomacy, but the Dwarfs would never stand for it, not the slightest chance. They would be as likely to make peace with a Vampire as Thorgrim Grudgebearer would be to develop fondness for Goblins.

It's notable that many living Sylvanias gladly followed Vlad von Carstein into battle and believed him to be a far better and more kind ruler than their prior, living, lords.

Many moons ago in the days when the multipose bezerker kit was new the "lore" for my CSM force was that they were relatively new renegades (about half of my SM chapter) and in the process of splitting into different factions. However as they still fairly cohesive and successful they tended to draw in odds and sods from all the powers.

In practice on the table top this translated into a bunch of undivided dudes (with bits from the 3rd edt box marines) , a mob of berzerkers (both ye olde monopose and the then new kit), some raptors/warp talons or whatever they are these days) and a TS sorcerer and his dusty boy body gaurds (aka the space crusade chaos marines).

Both of these ideas are awesome. Been starting the beginnings of a new chaos army actually, and while originally it was a few khornates for a joke, I've been growing fond of growing the force. Probably would go down the charismatic warlord route but with some heavy battle damage I could really put a darker twist on the whole thing.

Im kind of doing a mixed chaos force of regular Word Bearer marines and Death Guard Plague Marines.

I wonder what a Word Bearer plague marine would look like... that might be an interesting test actually.

I think any Deathguard who for whatever reason weren't with Mortarions main fleet on the way to Terra remained normal, there's a short story set a bit after the siege about a group of Death guard renegades who left the legion because they thought Morty was getting a bit too close to the warp for their liking.
Sometimes were in the world war 2 era, sometimes were in the modern day.
