Just a Short Poem I Wrote

Postby Sacara » Thu Jul 04, 2019 10:45 pm

A few weeks ago, I experienced the loss of a loved one that I was very close to. The loss hit me extremely hard, and I'm not really great at expressing my emotions, so I sought advice and was told to write it in a poem form. I'm not the best at poetry, but I did manage to write something down. This isn't very good, but it's just my interpretation of the inevitability of death.

The cameras begin to roll as the first act begins,
this, however, is but a one act show,
filled with everything conceivable, imaginable, unthinkable,
all within this one act show.

The characters read their lines one by one,
and they reluctantly play their parts,
for there is nothing they can do,
all within this one act show.

The ending has already been written,
the finale already filmed,
they know what will happen to them,
all within this one act show.

Yet, there still remains a sense a dread,
a sense that things should be different,
nobody is content,
nobody will relent.

However,

The ending has already been written,
the finale already filmed,
they know what will happen to them,
all within this one act show.

You should remember that an important thing is the legacy left behind after death. Even if the person had faults, the family or greater community left behind is what really counts for how they lived their life. They would be very happy, to know that they were worthy of being loved.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Regarding death I think this is a nice reflective piece
