Anakin’s Lightsaber, Dubbed Rey’s?

As many of you may know, Disney has said that Anakin’s lightsaber, the one he fought the entirety of the Clone Wars with (aside from Geonosis), the one Luke Skywalker used until Return Of The Jedi as Rey’s.

How do you feel about this issue of Anakin’s lightsaber now being dubbed “Rey’s”?

For me, this is an insult to Anakin, as Rey along with the sequel isn’t great.

It's just a lightsabre. It doesn't choose the 'wizard' and the wands did in Harry potter. So, what does it matter.

What is more concerning is a lightsabre has a straight blade whereas the traditional sabre has a curved one and is a cavalry sword. So what's more bothering is where are the tauntauns, banthas or broomsticks.

Heaven forbid that someone “insult” a character who massacred children by naming a lightsaber after a feeemoid.

Are they marketing it as the lightsaber used by Rey? Then they should obviously be calling it Rey's lightsaber. The kids would get confused if the box had Rey's picture but then said Anakin's lightsaber on it. They probably won't even buy it because they wanted Rey's lightsaber. Why are you bitching about this, anyways?

Since Anakin is an ethereal force ghost now, I really don't think he'd give a shit either way.

Certain individuals, very normal individuals, have been quite upset at the new Star Wars films for very good, very normal reasons, many of which centre on Rey and her status as a woman-type person.

To be honest I did call BS on Rey the n00b having force abilities that the Jedi Masters took years or decades to learn and control.

Sure, but I don't see how that's relevant right now.

They do sell Anakin lightsabers and have ever since Attack of the Clones came out. You're wrong, though, because Disney is definitely making more off of Rey lightsabers currently. The kids getting this stuff probably don't even know who Anakin is. The prequels are rather old at this point.

Yeah, they tried making Rey automatically have god powers when she can’t tell the difference between the force and a f*cking leaf.

That's why someone would be mad about the lightsaber that Rey is given and uses through two films being called "Rey's lightsaber".

Yeah, they tried making Rey automatically have god powers when she can’t tell the difference between the force and a f*cking leaf.

God powers like short range telekinesis, something only the most powerful of Jedi can accomplish after decades of training.

Well, that's dumb.

I mean, both Luke and Anakin were prodigies, too, and no one seems to have a problem with that. *shrug*

She was able to perform a Jedi mind trick for some strange reason; an ability that Luke only had much later.

1) We have a Star Wars thread for a reason.
2) She's the sole person using it now, isn't she? For all intents and purposes, the weapon's hers.

Just because I think it is wrong, and I wanted to see what the NS community thought.

I’m a die hard Star Wars fan, been watching since I was three (for real) and Rey really hasn’t earned my respect yet.

And an ability that Anakin never had (to my knowledge). Different Jedi are skilled in different areas of the Force. Perhaps Rey just has a natural tendency towards the mind control part.

The poll needs the option of 'this is a really stupid thing to get mad about'.

Sure they are. But she was able to use this ability very successfully with no practice or training, hence why I'm calling BS on it. Even those we have thus far seen that have a strong connection to the Force require training to use their abilities.

Anakin used precognition to win the pod race with no training. Luke used telekinesis in the ice cave with no training.

An apathy option should be mandatory for all polls tbh.
