Forgotten - Prologue

This is a story I made a few months ago. I wanted to know what everybody thought of it.

Prologue

It was about a month ago that Jane's parents divorced.

The young eleven year old girl stared at the snow that fell upon the Gallish soil. It was cold and moist, much like her feelings that loitered inside her. How can they hate each other so quickly? she would ask herself, referring to her mother and father's current conflict. She was only young, and didn't completely understand the word "Divorce". She loathed the word.

Jane von Pearce was a young Gallish girl from Lionsea. Her parents were Ludwig and Elsabeth, but they haven't shared the same surname recently. Jane found life hard living in Emerisia, with it being the big city in Galskia and whatnot. She missed the smooth country hills of Lionsea and how calm it was there. When she was five she enjoyed going out with her mother and father on bike rides with their German Shepherd, Max. She also loved visiting the nearest city of New Plymouth, where they would do their Christmas shopping or went to get a hot sausage roll from Ulrike Kunkle's Cafe. She struggled to enjoy anything in the big city. So industrialised. So...... dense.

Jane and her mother were forced to move to Emerisia after August when Elsabeth divorced her father, Ludwig. It was the law of Galskia, unfortunately. Soon, Jane wouldn't be able to see her mother at all when she turns thirteen. (Note: If children are below the age of thirteen, they live with their mothers after divorce, but that'll change.)

Ludwig; her father on the other hand, was a rather benevolent chap. Middle-aged and rich, he could also show signs of charisma and jealousy. He had blue eyes and thick black hair, with his cheeks and chin coated with a large black beard. He worked as a Lieutenant for the navy.

Whereas her mother, Elsabeth, was a timid and young lady. She barely had any money on her, giving her and her daughter little chance to find a proper home; even a bungalow for that matter. Elsabeth had brown eyes and short brown hair that she usually wore in a bun.

Jane had an older brother, Siegmund, but he was twenty-two and went to serve Kaiser Aaron II's Military, and would very barely be able to visit. Jane constantly felt lonely without Siegmund. He was the only one who could cheer her up, as hard as her mother try. Siegmund and Jane would usually play the latest board game of Battleship or Risk (or even a Gallish Smart Phone game called Dynasty where you had the chance to control your own royal family.) Either way, they had a great relationship.

Unfortunately, all of the above was about to change for Jane.

So, what do you guys think>
