Who was the best Spiderman?

Postby Dellnia » Sun Nov 18, 2018 2:44 am

I've recently been persecuted by some of my friends for personal views

On who was the best Spiderman

While I'm a firm supporter of Tobey Maguire's original trilogy, most people I've spoken to about it seem to prefer Tom Holland

So tell me forum goers, who're your favourite actor's portrayal of Spiderman in a feature film?

While a lot of it is just my personal preference, I'll do my best to explain myself. Tobey Maguire just nails that kind of nerdy and nervous vibe of Peter Parker in the first three movies (the quality of the third is disputable but you get my point). He's not just some kind of Hollywood star like Andrew Garfield, he's just regular old Peter Parker, making his way through the world.

Don’t particularly like any of the movie versions...

However, I guess Tobey wins because now every time I hear Spider-Man I immediately imagine Tobey Maguire. So he must have done something right.

Captain Universe is best costume for Spiderman (2000) for the original Playstation if I'm not mistaken. The character bios and the narration was by Spiderman co-creator Stan Lee. So this old game is a real gem. It is one of if not the first game where players really could take advantage of all the powers Spiderman is supposed to have in a semi-open 3D world, with some technical limitations of course- being that it is from 2000.

No idea if the extra powers Captain Universe Spiderman has translate over to the comics as well, but it has the following extra powers and more that regular Spiderman doesn't:

Invincibility (doesn't take damage)
Unlimited webbing (doesn't run out of web)
Enhanced strength (inflicts double damage)

Spidey is too often portrayed as this angsty kid, I can almost hear the zits growing'

i feel sorry for the actors who have to pretend to be that lame.

The best one was the two dimensional one, in the comic books

I preferred the games PS2 sequel. The web slinging mechanics were tricky at first by were cool once you mastered it.

Also the pizza mini game.
