Postby The Philippine Islands of Luzviminda » Wed Oct 17, 2018 4:26 am

What I mean from this is if there are any songs like: "Always look on the Bright Side of Life" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJUhlRoBL8M

If there are thank you

I can think of a few, as well as a few situations where they'd be appropriate. If you've managed to recover after a period of feeling down, or if you've found the one, then I'd recommend Movin' On Up by Primal Scream. For the optimist who wants to chill out, then I'd recommend Pacific State by 808 State; more accurately, the Pacific 202 and Pacific 707 versions. For waking up in the morning, try the classic Beautiful Day by U2. And Live Forever by Oasis could probably fit somewhere. As always, apologies if any of the links don't work in your countries.

I'd probably avoid Avicii, though. I mean, RIP to the guy but his music always felt to me like it forced you to be happy or dance to it, like it was "Government Mandated Optimistic Dancing Song", as opposed to having that infectious beat that made you want to groove along to it.

There is Don't Worry, Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin, but since I am a deep pessimist I may have got it wrong.

"We are the champions" by Queen seems for me very optimistic.

CYNIC, n. A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be. Hence the custom among the Scythians of plucking out a cynic's eyes to improve his vision.

Yes on the first one, but a definite no on the second. That's not an optimistic song, it's a dark "fuck you" directed at his first wife.

Don't forget about Don't Stop Me Now, that's another optimistic Queen song.

To me, they are the same version of optimism. I was in a poor relationship, but I'm out of it now and will do much better.

Progressive trance, dream trance, future funk and progressive house are some well-known feel good genres of music.

These I find rather cheerful, so not strictly optimistic...

Rolling Stones She's a Rainbow
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c1BThu95d8

Katrina and the Waves Walking on Sunshine
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPUmE-tne5U

Puffy and The Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra Hazumu Rhythm (no idea what it's about but it always makes me smile)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4I_TETFAGY
Everything is intertwinkled
