Roses are red,
violets are blue,
This type of poem is overused,
Aaaand I don't know what to put at the end.

What if the vikings, witnessing a meteor shower they took as a sign from the gods and given 21st century tech by a mysterious and supremely powerful race that left the system soon after the vikings took over earth, landed on the moon by the 1800s, colonised the system by 2018 and made contact with various alien species? here's a poem I wrote and on allpoetry:

Hello, my name is renegade

Hello, my name is renegade.
What I say is ponderous,
how I say it is thunderous.

I am unafraid
of the side comments that are slanderous,
even though they're jabs of painfulness.

When people set up a barricade,
I go through it undismayed,
and my enemies go colorless.

I guess that makes me dangerous,
but this isn't an escapade.
Then this gives an accolade,
from the rest of the masquerade.

In times of desire
Of the darkest hour

We try to do what's right
But instead stand on might

We lose all hope of what we know
Instead we go on blow

A stark different tune
A loon

This was made up

I found her on a bridge
Her smell was sweet as hell

It was quite short
The moment contort

Her dress cut up to knee
Yet I could not see

Why I gave her up
A long time ago

I saw nothing
For I cannot feel
My words escape me
as my mind has imploded
My hands grew warm
As everything collapsed

I enjoy the occasional poem, although I don't write any.

A favourite of mine is 'High Flight' by John Magee;

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, --and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of --Wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air...
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew --
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

I will never love again
I don't have anything to cease my pain

I took everything for granted
Now I'm sold as granite

I've lost all hope
I said too many times nope

Bring me again this nightmare
For I have no one to share

Do song lyrics count?
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gambol in the wabe.
All mimsy were the borogoves
And the mome raths outgrabe.
