Playing Fabled Lands, a combination of game book, and turn based RPG which just came out a few days ago. Am enjoying it a lot. There is a decent learning curve.

Kai Leng doesn't mind the giant ancient aliens from deep space coming to wipe out all intelligent life in the galaxy for somewhere around the 20,000th time even after witnessing it first hand on Thessia, but rather assassinating the citadel council ninja style for his Illusive master.

He has his priorities, but at what cost?

Finally jumping back into Disco Elysium for the first time since my first time. And I'm already upset. I tried to explore around a little too soon and "softlocked" myself. Before I even properly assessed the situation with the body, I jumped for my police coat and I can't get out of the area without talking to Evrart. Who somehow knows about my amnesia in spite of the fact that I'm deliberately trying to keep it as low-key as possible, even to Kim, I haven't implied ANYTHING worse than a "normal" hangover blackout.

And on top of all of that, another reason why I shouldn't have explored in that particular direction is because I explicitly want this entire run to experience being a garbage fascist person. I don't know what happens if I don't talk to Metalhead or whatever his name is after the fact. I'm on the verge of wiping out a good hour and a half of progress just to make sure things work out how I want them to.

Okay, this game is legitimately pissing me off. I don't think I've passed more than one check higher than 60% first try. And yet when I fling an attempt at some nonsense that's low percentage and hardly worth caring about, I keep succeeding. Has Disco Elysium been reworked to feature backwards percentages? Genuine inquiry, because this is pure fucking madness.

I legitimately don't know how I'm supposed to function and get around the mechanics while retaining the thought. I guess this is the "end" of being like this?

It certainly doesn't help that my Psyche (and by extension, Volition) is only 2. I had no idea the impact that part of my build would have on the ideological path I chose.

And it's not about rolls, for clarity, it's a Thought: Revacholian Nationhood: [Alcohol gives +2 FYS, Nationalist dialogue options damage -1 Morale]. Every fascist thing I say hurts me. It's unavoidable. That's why it feels so unsustainable, I can't stay true to the ideology without literally inflicting mental damage upon myself. I decided to just drop it, I can still be fascist, I just won't get the extra benefit from alcohol, which I haven't even been touching in the first place.

And as much as it's absolutely horrible gameplay-wise, I like the interpretation because I kinda get it: The king is dead. The old glories of the nation are gone, almost forgotten. Trampled upon by the communists. And now degeneracy is everywhere.
